Marvel Television drew loud boos at New York Comic-Con today when it was confirmed that Daredevil: Born Again Season 3 will be the show's last.
On the plus side, it sounds like the Man Without Fear's latest TV series is going out in style. An action-packed trailer was shown to attendees that, unlike previous years, hasn't leaked online. Well, not yet, at least (fans in the Javits Center are currently watching the first episode of VisionQuest).
Fortunately, Entertainment Weekly has shared a detailed description of this Daredevil: Born Again Season 3 sneak peek, confirming that Matt Murdock suits up behind bars while the Defenders reunite on the outside.
[The trailer] sees Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Danny Rand getting official police badges. "Well, is no one gonna say it?" Jessica says after taking a swig from her flask. "There should be four badges."
The new footage... focused mainly on Matt’s life behind bars. He’s wearing a new kind of suit these days that’s decidedly orange. "I made a choice to pay for my so-called crimes for stopping a madman from turning the city into his own personal kingdom," Matt says, content to serve his sentence.
The teaser shows Matt tearing apart his orange jumpsuit and then emerging shirtless, wearing his makeshift Daredevil head wrap and cuffs. He then proceeds to beat the crap out of some of the inmates.
Marvel fans were also treated to a quick flash of Fisk screaming his lungs out somewhere, as well as Wilson Bethel’s Benjamin "Dex" Poindexter now in his comic book-accurate dark Bullseye costume.
It sounds incredible, though it's interesting that Elektra wasn't featured in the trailer after Elodie Yung was spotted on set. Of course, that may be considered too spoilery for marketing materials, as Daredevil was photographed right alongside her.
When it comes to an official release, we wouldn't necessarily bank on it getting an online debut until next year. That's how Marvel Television and Disney+ marketed Daredevil: Born Again Season 2, anyway.
Daredevil: Born Again Season 3's cast includes Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock/Daredevil, Vincent D’Onofrio as Wilson Fisk/Kingpin, Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page, Wilson Bethel as Bullseye, Nikki M. James as Kirsten McDuffie, Margarita Levieva as Heather Glenn, Clark Johnson as Cherry, and Matthew Lillard as Mr. Charles.
Krysten Ritter, meanwhile, will return as Jessica Jones, alongside Mike Colter as Luke Cage, Finn Jones as Danny Rand/Iron Fist, and Elodie Yung as Elektra Natchios.
The series is expected to return to Disney+ next March.
