Fans weren't too happy about it, but the WandaVision finale revealed that Evan Peters (Dark Phoenix) was actually an aspiring actor called Ralph Bohner (heh, "boner"). Agatha Harkness used her powers to control Wanda Maximoff and Vision's neighbour, forcing him to pose as the Marvel Cinematic Universe's version of Pietro Maximoff/Quicksilver.
Now, Peters has finally broken his silence on that big twist during a recent talk with Pace University.
Believe it or not, the actor was clued into the fact he was actually "Ralph" from the start, but was never told that his character's surname was "Bohner." Evans, however, thought the twist was hilarious.
"I didn't know his last name was Bohner. So, there's that scene where I'm upstairs in my man cave, and I'm explaining to [Monica Rambeau]...she looks at the headshot, and she says 'Ralph Bohner!' And I was like, 'Bohner?!'" the actor explained. "I started hysterically laughing because I had no idea that my last name was Bohner. I knew that from the beginning that he was Ralph, and that he was being controlled by the witch."
It was a pretty funny, unexpected twist, but one that disappointed fans who were hoping Evans had been cast as the MCU's new version of Quicksilver. That was never the plan for "Ralph," unfortunately, and it's unlikely we'll see more of the character moving forward. The way things ended for him wasn't overly satisfying, though, so perhaps he'll show up somewhere.
