WHAT IF...? Star Ikè Amadi On Joining The MCU As O'Bengh And A Possible Live-Action Return (Exclusive)

Many fans have described yesterday's episode of What If...? - titled "What If...Doctor Strange Lost His Heart Instead of His Hands?" - as the best yet. It was definitely a hard-hitting, surprisingly emotional 30 minutes of television, and among the all-star cast of returning MCU veterans was a newly introduced character called O'Bengh.

Better known as Cagliostro in the comic books, he introduced Stephen Strange to a whole new world of magic as the Sorcerer Supreme looked to bring Christine Palmer back from the dead.

Earlier today, we spoke to actor Ikè Amadi (Mortal Kombat Legends: Battle of the Realms) about his incredible work bringing that character to life in What If...? Amazingly, it sounds like he was left in the dark while in the recording booth reeling off these lines as O'Bengh for Marvel Studios!

"I’ll be honest with you, I didn’t even know what we were doing at first [Laughs]," he revealed. "Everything is so secretive when you’re part of something like that, so I didn’t know for a long time what it was we were actually doing. As I found out in dribs and drabs, it was very exciting. I’m super happy with how things came out. I thought it was a beautiful episode."

We also asked Ikè about the possibility of playing a live-action Cagliostro, and he definitely appeared to be on board with the idea. "That would be fantastic," he enthused, before we noted that it would be amazing to see him return to the MCU one day. "Yeah, me too; I appreciate that!"

We'll have much more from our interview to share with you soon, including Ikè's thoughts on bringing Jax to life in the animated Mortal Kombat franchise, his role as The Prowler in Spider-Man: Miles Morales, and the possibility of returning as Martian Manhunter in the DC Animated Universe.

Mortal Kombat Legends: Battle of the Realms is available now on 4K/Blu-ray & Digital!

The pop ups on this site make it one of the worst sites I go to. And wildling sucks.

It was cool to see a non-MCU Marvel character in this episode, but Doctor Strange 2 is stuffed enough.

@soberchimera - didn't even think of that. Is this the first time they introduced a new character?

Loved this episode! Also lowkey surprised that they went for the depressing ending. I half expected them to have the ‘good’ Dr. Strange win the fight or have the destruction of reality reversed somehow by the end. Really reminds me of the older What If comics where they usually have a very bleak ending

At first I thought he was playing one of the Drumm brothers when I saw his name in the opening credits, but seeing him as O-Bengh was cool to see. Like how he didn't really bother to ask what a dude from the future was doing in his basement for centuries

A friend made this, and I hope it gets used whenever a new episode drops.

You know, after watching the episode, it just hit me--looks like the creative team behind it might have taken a page from the Distinguished Competition...

Who here remembers Hal Jordan's Emerald Twilight?
