DEADPOOL Star Ryan Reynolds In Talks For Live-Action DRAGON'S LAIR Netflix Adaptation

Some of you may remember the notoriously difficult Dragon's Lair arcade game from the '80s, and it's now being reported that Ryan Reynolds is in talks to play the lead in a live-action Netflix adaptation.

Some of you may remember the Dragon's Lair arcade game (I'm not quite ancient enough myself, but I did play the SNES version) from the early '80s. It featured ground-breaking graphics for its time, was notoriously difficult to clear, and has since inspired several comic books and a short-lived animated series.

Now, THR reports that Ryan Reynolds (Deadpool, Green Lantern) is in talks to play the lead in a live-action Dragon's Lair movie for Netflix. Though not confirmed in the trade's write-up, it's assumed he'd play the game's main character Dirk the Daring.

Further details are sparse, but we do know that Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark screenwriters Dan and Kevin Hageman will pen the script.

What do you guys make of this news? Were you fans of the game? Let us know in the comments.

@Origame - Looks like Bluth is onboard and still creatively involved!

@MG0019 - don bluth being involved doesnt change the fact its not animated. Don bluth is an animator, so his involvement is going to be minimum.

Actually, I never finished Bandersnatch. True story, my PS4 controller's battery died when the option to kill the guy's father popped up, so I (unwillingly) watched that scene play out while scrambling for a charger, and then got somewhat miffed at the exercise and never came back to it.

Not sure ho I feel about this. Love the games and Don Bluth's works. Rather it be animated in Bluth's trademark style. I heard years ago Don put up a kick-starter to do an animated movie but I guess it never panned out if this is being made instead.
