EXTRACTION 3 Officially Announced With Chris Hemsworth & Director Sam Hargrave Set To Return

Less than twenty-four hours after Extraction 2 made its grand debut, Netflix has officially confirmed that Extraction 3 is a go, with both Chris Hemsworth and director Sam Hargrave set to return.

Following a strong debut for Extraction 2, star/producer Chris Hemsworth formally announced during Netflix's TUDUM event that Extraction 3 is already in the works.

Director Sam Hargrave will return to helm the third installment, with Joe and Anthony Russo back onboard as executive producers.

In addition to Hemsworth as Tyler Rake, fans should expect both Golshifteh Farahani (Nik Khan) and Idris Elba (Alcott) to also return for the next chapter in this fan-favorite action franchise.

The first Extraction was a roaring success in 2020, reaching approximately 99 million households within the first four weeks of release. While we'll have to wait a month or so for Netflix to release any internal figures, it seems increasingly likely the follow-up will perform similarly, if not better.

Chris Hemsworth returns as Tyler Rake in EXTRACTION 2, the sequel to Netflix's blockbuster action film EXTRACTION. After barely surviving the events of the first movie, Rake is back as the Australian black ops mercenary, tasked with another deadly mission: rescuing the battered family of a ruthless Georgian gangster from the prison where they are being held.

Good shit. Watched the sequel “opening night”. Was not disappointed. Relentless from start to finish with no political bullshit. Other studios should take note.

@GhostDog - ah yes you beat me by a couple. I almost wish it got a theatrical release. Netflix got its own John Wick franchise right there.

They got their "The Raid" western remake franchise right there.

That 20 minute one shot was nutz!!!
I know they did it through quick edits but still, a very good edit!

@marvel72 - I was having a rough day and decided to call out of work. I buckled down and decided to see Chapter 4 in theaters, even though it was being released on digital the following week. I'm so glad I did. And the only other I saw in theaters was the first, when it was still an unknown incredible sleeper action film that had yet to gain word of mouth.

Really darn impressive cinematography in those movies, and fantastic action. And Hemsworth, well, he and his perfect hair make for a great action protagonist.

It’s a decent action flick for a Netflix original.

Awesome. The 2nd movie is really good, the action is top notch and that 21 minute action sequence is pretty breathtaking to watch. I liked the first movie a little bit more, it just had more going on and even more action, but the 2nd film was great and I look forward to rewatching it again.

I thought Hemsworth was taking a step back from acting. Or does that just means he's doing less projects now?

Anyway, I'll probably watch 2 somewhere next week. First I'll be watching Fubar though I think
