The ending of Red Notice teased threatened a sequel, and for our sins, we're getting two!
After officially becoming the biggest Netflix movie of all time, Deadline reports that the streamer is in the process of developing a pair of follow-ups, which are expected to shoot back-to-back next year. Dwayne Johnson, Ryan Reynolds and Gal Gadot are all set to reprise their respective roles, while Rawson Marshall Thurber will also return to direct.
Although the focus will remain on our trio of con-artists, the plan is to "add new characters to flesh out a heist film ensemble reminiscent of the starry Oceans Eleven franchise."
Red Notice didn't fare too well with critics (you can read our 1-star review here), but that lowly 37% Rotten Tomatoes score didn't seem to deter viewers, and Netflix recently touted the film as their most-watched feature of all time.
The crime-caper had clocked up 328.8 million viewing hours less than a month after its release, surpassing the previous record held by Bird Box (282 million viewing hours). The figures also showed that 50% of all subscribers worldwide watched the movie, which still remains in Netflix's top 10 films list in 94 countries.
