The fourth season of Stranger Things was forced to suspend production back in March, but things are now back on track, and Netflix has announced eight new cast members for the show - including horror legend Robert Englund.

Englund, who is best known for his iconic role as blade-fingered monster Freddy Krueger in the A Nightmare of Elm Street franchise, won't be straying too far away from the character he's most associated with, as he'll be playing Victor Creel, "a disturbed and intimidating man who is imprisoned in a psychiatric hospital for a gruesome murder in the 1950s."

Jamie Campbell Bower (the Twilight films), Eduardo Franco (American Vandal) and Joseph Quinn (Howard’s End) are also on board as series regulars, while joining Englund in recurring roles are Sherman Augustus (Into the Badlands), Mason Dye (Bosch), Nikola Djuricko (Legends) and Tom Wlaschiha (Game of Thrones).

You can find out about each of their characters below.

Bower is Peter Ballard, a caring man who works as an orderly at a psychiatric hospital. Tired of the brutality he witnesses day after day, will Peter finally take a stand?

Franco is Argyle, Jonathan’s new best friend, a fun-loving stoner who proudly delivers delicious pizza pies for Surfer Boy Pizza.

Quinn is Eddie Munson, an audacious 80’s metalhead who runs The Hellfire Club, Hawkins High’s official D&D club. Hated by those who don’t understand him — and beloved by those who do — Eddie will find himself at the terrifying epicenter of this season’s mystery.

Augustus is Lt. Colonel Sullivan, an intelligent, no-nonsense man who believes he knows how to stop the evil in Hawkins once and for all.

Dye is Jason Carver, a handsome and rich sports star who is dating the most popular girl in school. But as a new evil threatens Hawkins, Jason’s perfect world begins to unravel.

Djuricko is Yuri, a seedy and unpredictable Russian smuggler who loves bad jokes, cold hard cash, and crunchy style peanut butter.

Wlaschiha is Dmitri, a Russian prison guard who befriends Hopper. Dmitri is smart, cunning, and charming… but can he be trusted?

It looks like the gang are going to have a lot of new problems to deal with when we (eventually) return to Hawkins.

What do you guys make of these Stranger Things season 4 cast additions? Let us know in the comments.

Seriously because of a few things in season 3 (main thing being Erica), I considered dropping the show

@dracula - same. I won't say I completely hated that season but my enjoyment of the show was teetering. Sidenote I havent got into the finale of Kipo yet but I will soon.

@dracula - Agree, when they said that ST was ending in 1 or 2 seasons it made sense. But now that Covid has ruined the Duffer Brother's gigs they are now saying that ST can go on for more seasons beyond their intital plan.

American TV shows...am I right?

@mastakilla39 - seriously? they are doing more than 5 seasons.......I like stranger things, but its not a show than can work long term. Like seriously this could end up like Twin Peaks after they solved the Laura Palmer murder

Great Robert Englund, but I'd also like to see Christopher Lloyd on the Show.

Season 3 was a great improvement over the second, and since they've had time to map out the rest of the story I'm thinking the quality will go back to the highs of the first season, I hope lol
