Earlier today, Netflix shared our first glimpse of Henry Cavill (Justice League, Mission: Impossible - Fallout) as Geralt Rivera in some test footage from The Witcher, and now the streaming giant has rounded out the cast of the highly-anticipated adaptation.

Joining Cavill and other previously announced cast members Freya Allen (Ciri) and Anya Chalotra (Yennefer) will be (deep breath): Eamon Farren (The ABC Murders, Twin Peaks) as Cahir, Joey Batey (Knightfall, Strike) as Jaskier, Lars Mikkelsen (House of Cards, Sherlock) as Stregobor, Royce Pierreson (Wanderlust, Judy) as Istredd, Maciej Musiał (1983) as Sir Lazlo and Wilson Radjou-Pujalte (Jamillah & Aladdin, Dickensian) as Dara.

We also have Rebecca Benson (Marilka), Shane Attwooll (Nohorn), Luke Neal (Vyr), Matthew Neal (Nimir), Tobi Bamtefa (Danek), Sonny Serkis (Martin), Roderick Hill (Fletcher), Inge Beckmann (Aridea), Charlotte O’Leary (Tiffania), Natasha Culzac (Toruviel), Amit Shah (Torque), and Tom Canton (Filavandrel).

Arguably the biggest cast addition, however, is Anna Shaffer (Harry Potter, Hollyoaks), who will play Geralt's on-again-off-again love interest Triss Merigold.

Polish writer Andrzej Sapkowski's series of fantasy novels - which have since spawned a hugely popular video game franchise - focus on monster hunters known as Witchers who develop supernatural abilities at a young age. The main character is Geralt of Rivia (Cavill), a solitary Witcher who struggles to find his place in a world where people often prove more wicked than beasts.

The Witcher will premiere on Netflix at some point next year.
