The Ahsoka social media embargo lifted yesterday evening and the response thus far has been extremely positive. For those of you who haven't watched Star Wars Rebels, it would be a good idea to at least hunt down a YouTube recap, but rest assured the series is an absolute blast.

We actually get to see some of the show's epic action in the first clip from the upcoming Disney+ TV series (first shared on SFFGazette.com).

As Hera Syndulla and Chopper (who has translated to live-action perfectly) chase down a fleeing ship, we see Ahsoka Tano engaging in lightsaber combat in an effort to fend off a mysterious Sith Inquisitor and his droid companion.

We know his name is Marrok, of course, but beyond that...well, it feels like the reveal of whoever is beneath the helmet will be a big moment in the Star Wars series. Then again, he may just be a secondary villain with no ties to any existing characters.

Earlier today, news also broke that Ahsoka will premiere on Disney+ quite a bit sooner than expected. You can read about that by clicking here. Then, check out this clip from the series below!

Set after the fall of the Empire, Ahsoka follows the former Jedi Knight Ahsoka Tano as she investigates an emerging threat to a vulnerable galaxy.

In addition to Rosario Dawson in the title role, the series stars Natasha Liu Bordizzo as Sabine Wren, Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Hera Syndulla, the late Ray Stevenson as Baylan Skoll, Ivanna Sakhno as Shin Hati, Diana Lee Inosanto as Morgan Elsbeth, David Tennant as Huyang, Lars Mikkelsen as Grand Admiral Thrawn, and Eman Esfandi appearing as Ezra Bridger.

Ahsoka was written by Dave Filoni, who executive produces alongside Jon Favreau, Kathleen Kennedy, Colin Wilson, and Carrie Beck. Directors include Filoni, Steph Green, Peter Ramsey, Jennifer Getzinger, Geeta Vasant Patel, and Rick Famuyiwa.

Ahsoka will launch exclusively on Disney+ on August 23 with a two-episode premiere.

I'm trying my best to get up to speed with The Clone Wars and Rebels to understand more Ahsoka and Sabine's characters but the portrayal of the Chopper droid there was very good, it has already a very distinct personality and sense of humor compared to R2D2 and BB-9. It comes off as a grumpy droid. XD

The Ahsoka fight looked good too.

I can't wait for Tuesdays.

CGI looks great here.
Wish Marvel would have that

@OptimusCrime - The problem with Marvel Studios has been that they use the same companies for everything. So imagine having to work on three movies and three shows at the same time that need to all release the following fiscal year. Where as with Star Wars shows they don't have Movies and shows dropping simultaneously.

@NinnesMBC - I also need to get up to speed with TCW and Rebels (those shows came around in my younger college days when I was doing... a lot of other things with my time 😉). I recall watching a few episodes?, but then again I also recall watching my fingers inflating like balloons one night while I was paying the guitar one for a bunch of people at a quarry who were trying to make a bonfire out of weeds that were made of asbestos, so I'm not entire sure what did and didn't actually happen during that time. Can anyone recommend a good catch-up video on YouTube?

Really looking forward to this one always like the ship battles. Plus the light saber action is cool. I wish there was a show that followed the actions of the old guard (Luke, Han and Leia) after and A New Hope and before Empire.

Damn. I've come to a place in nerd life where this LOOKS and SOUNDS like Star Wars but I am just not compelled to care about it on any level.

It looks fantastic but IDGAF and I say that as an old ass die hard fan since the theatrical release of Star Wars itself.

😢😢😢

Being more of a Trekkie can I ask are grey Jedi like Ashoka more aggressive. More of a loose cannon? Can they form romantic relationships?

They really need to modify the Volume or stop using it. This trend of bland lighting and basic camerawork is not good. Marvel’s doing it too, but Star Wars should be visually captivating and this… just isn’t.
