Marrok has very quickly become the focal point for the majority of Star Wars fan theories since debuting in Ahsoka, with the fact Sam Witwer is mentioned in the show's credits only helping to add further fuel to the fire.
Plenty of people are convinced Darth Vader's secret apprentice is beneath the mysterious Inquisitor's rusting helmet, though a more believable and popular theory is that Morgan Elsbeth has somehow corrupted Ezra Bridger. After all, she's a powerful descendant of the Nightsisters of Dathomir and it would explain how she figured out Grand Admiral Thrawn's location.
There are undeniable similarities between the name "Galen Marek" and "Marrok," though it still feels like a stretch - and a possible disservice - to a character as great as Starkiller to simply shoehorn him into this Disney+ series.
During a recent live stream (via SFFGazette.com), Witwer briefly addressed the chatter surrounding his presence in Ahsoka and appeared to forget he actually worked on the show!
To be honest, this isn't overly surprising, especially when he's been credited for providing "Additional Voices" in a number of Star Wars projects, including the Jedi: Survivor video game. Given his longtime friendship with Dave Filoni, we'd bet on this just being a regular day's work for the actor rather than a secret role.
Thus far, stuntman Paul Darnell is the only actor who has been credited as Marrok, with a "Featuring" nod in this week's episode suggesting he also lent his voice to the modulated dialogue we heard from the villain.
Ezra still seems like the most likely candidate to be beneath the mask and you can read more about that possibility by clicking here. Will Lucasfilm surprise us or is Marrok just Marrok, a bad guy destined to be dispatched by Ahsoka Tano? We'll have to wait and see.
