AHSOKA Star Eman Esfandi Suggests There's A Mysterious Backstory With Ezra Bridger's Chain Mail

During a recent convention appearance, Ezra Bridger actor Eman Esfandi was asked about the Jedi Knight's eye-catching chain mail, suggesting there's a mysterious backstory which will be explored one day...

Ahsoka made good on its promise by finally revealing what became of Ezra Bridger and Grand Admiral Thrawn following the events of Star Wars Rebels, but the series still left fans with more than their fair share of unanswered questions.

There were some vague allusions to the two enemies going their separate ways once they arrived on Peridea, but there are huge gaps which the majority are keen to see filled in at some point. Among them is that mysterious chain mail worn by the older Ezra during his time stranded in another Galaxy.

Plenty of fans are convinced that it was comprised of dog tags taken from Stormtroopers the Jedi had defeated, thereby explaining why Thrawn's army was, well, dead.

Many believe Heir to the Empire author Timothy Zahn will be enlisted to fill in the gaps with new novels and, while we wait and see on that, Ezra actor Eman Esfandi was recently asked about the chain mail during a Los Angeles Comic Con panel for Ahsoka

"I can say nothing else about the chain mail," the actor bluntly replied (via SFFGazette.com). "I can say nothing about that."

Something must be in the works and, after Diana Lee Inosanto recently confirmed she was aware of Morgan Elsbeth's past as a Nightsister while shooting The Mandalorian season 2, we'd bet on Ahsoka showrunner Dave Filoni having filled Esfandi in.

At the same event, Esfandi and Natasha Liu Boridzzo revealed that there was a lot of discussion on set about what Ezra and Sabine Wren's reunion would look like.

"It was funny, 'cause on the day we sort of discussed it," Boridzzo said. "We were like, what does feel right? It's almost such an epic moment you want to cry and run to the person, but then at the end of the day you just have to do what comes out naturally as Sabine and Ezra. They're just old friends who would be like, 'Hey, I casually gave up the Galaxy to find you, but hey!'"

Esfandi added, "No questions asked. 'Say, what's up dude, thanks for finding me.' It was very organic." Boridzzo then chimed in to say, "It's very Star Wars, the casual nature of something that should be so much more serious I think."

Some wanted more from this big reunion but Filoni decided against spending too much time on that or the answers he knew fans were waiting on. Still, that's what a second season is for!

Oh wow a mystery box for the chainmail, how exciting. How about next time they make a show they give us a reason to care about it by actually telling us why instead of this Bullshit way of story-telling where absolutely everything is a mystery to be revealed later if we just keep watching. I say F that, tell us now, I'm sick of waiting for stuff to reveal the stuff that was on screen to tell us why we should care at some later date.

I'm so freaking done with speculating about Disney stuff cause they don't know how to make a story interesting anymore. All they do is set-up stuff for the future with these stupid-ass mystery box gimmicks with cliffhangers for every scene and rely on nostalgia bait now. They don't have anyone there that knows how to tell a tight clean story with a beginning, middle and end anymore.

Or there is no backstory at all, and that's why he can't say anything about it. Because there is nothing. Not everything needs to be explained (coughHan'sBlaster&dice)

Also, that reunion felt really out of place. I imagined them to be very happy and flying into each other's arms, not a casual ''hey, whats up''.

The casting of live action Ezra is one of the greatest failures of Disney's Star Wars. Making him look like Jesus...another fail.

Seeing some of you get this worked up about something like this which is just to me amicable talk among the fandom really says a lot of how much bad things have gotten around, damn.

Can't wait to see Eman back as Ezra, he's likeable.
