The season 1 (a second season is expected, but has yet to be officially announced) finale of Ahsoka, "The Jedi, The Witch, And The Warlord," is now streaming on Disney+, and the episode will, unfortunately, serve as a farewell to the late Ray Stevenson.
The Irish actor, who sadly passed away back in May just before his 58th birthday, played villainous(?) former Jedi Baylan Skoll in the latest live-action Star Wars series, and the finale featured his last scene.
Skoll didn't have a big part to play in the events of the concluding episode (in fact, he only showed up for a brief moment right at the end), but Stevenson would undoubtedly have reprised the role at some point. Considering how important his character would appear to be to the ongoing story, we would assume that Baylan will most likely be recast down the line.
Just before the finale aired, Ivanna Sakhno, who plays Skoll's conflicted apprentice Shin Hati, shared a touching tribute to Stevenson in the form of an Instagram post featuring an image from Norse mythology of Skoll and Hati, two giant wolves who chase the sun and the moon who were (presumably) the inspiration for the Ahsoka characters' names.
Sakhno captioned her post, "For my friend Ray. Forever your Wolf," with Rosario Dawson commenting: "Grateful for you always Ray. Thank you for deepening and enriching every moment. You will forever inspire." Morgan Elsbeth actress Diana Lee Inosanto added: "To Ray, our 'Poetry in Motion', May we always be reminded of you when we look to the stars," while Sabine Wren star Natasha Liu Bordizzo shared a heart emoji.
