STAR WARS & THE SIMPSONS Will Crossover For New Disney+ Short THE FORCE AWAKENS FROM ITS NAP

Maggie Simpson is set to make her way to the galaxy far, far away for a new Star Wars/The Simpsons crossover called The Force Awakens From Its Nap, which is set to hit Disney+ on Star Wars Day...

Tomorrow is May 4th (Star Wars Day to you and me!), and Disney+ has some exciting new content planned to celebrate.

In addition to the feature length series premiere of The Bad Batch, Star Wars Biomes and Star Wars Vehicle Flythroughs, a new Star Wars/The Simpsons crossover titled The Force Awakens From Its Nap will be available to stream from Tuesday.

The animated short will star Maggie Simpson, and judging by the poster below, she'll be facing-off against her unibrowed baby nemesis yet again.

"In a daycare far, far away… but still in Springfield, Maggie is on an epic quest for her stolen pacifier," reads the official synopsis. "Her adventure brings her face-to-face with young Padawans, Sith Lords, familiar droids, Rebel scum, and an ultimate battle against the dark side, in this original short celebrating the Star Wars galaxy."

The Simpsons' Star Wars homages/parodies are always good fun, so this should be well worth a watch when it debuts on Disney+ tomorrow.

I liked the original retellings Family Guy did, but gotta say I'm not that interested in this

@Waddles - not that into Simpsons either, but the first Star Wars retelling is on par with Robot Chicken in what it did for retellings.

Doubt I'll give this a go, but then again I'm not the demographic either.

6 years late with a parody title that would've been mildly amusing at best even when it was timely.

Family Guy will have done it better, if you are doing a crossover with The Palpatine Trilogy then that is instant fail.

This reminds me, I would love to see Family Guy do this again......also, them to parody Avengers like they did for Blue Harvest.

That would be amazing lmao.

Just... let the SImpsons die already. Long overdue at this point. Like, it shhould've ended over a decade ago.

@Franshu - People always say that but let's be real: how much longer is it even POSSIBLE for the show to be around. Julie Kavner is like 72. There's no way she can keep working on the show past 80. So the Simpsons will probably only last another 7-8 years max. It's gonna end pretty soon because they'll never recast Marge

The Simpsons are still classic, maintaining a certain level of quality for 30+ years is difficult, but they’ve become a staple in pop culture like it or not. That said, I highly doubt the Simpson’s wanted this more than, say Disney wanted this. It’s just Mickey milking The Simpsons for all they’re worth before they do end up pulling the plug. Nothing lasts forever.

I'm waiting for the inevitable Marvel / Star Wars spin-off where Spider-man gets magically trapped in a galaxy full of pop-culture far far away and where Deadpool gets mistaken for Anakin because of his face and ends up in the Darth Vader armor.

I'm sure this will only be about 6 to 10 minutes long at best. And short bits seem to work better with the Simpsons. I'll give it a watch before dismissing it outright as way too many people here love to do.
