STAR WARS: THE LAST JEDI Filmmaker Rian Johnson Would Love To Direct An Episode Of THE MANDALORIAN

Star Wars: The Last Jedi writer and director Rian Johnson is eager to return to the galaxy far, far away — and not only for his trilogy, which is currently in a "wait and see" phase. Appearing on the ReelBlend podcast, Johnson was asked if he would like to guest-direct an episode from season two of The Mandalorian.

"H*** Yeah! Man, if I had the time, I would get in there in a heartbeat," Johnson replied. "I had a set visit for Season 1 and it looked amazing. It looked like so much fun!"

The Mandalorian premiered on DIsney+ on November 12 and has Star Wars fans hooked through its first four episodes. The live-action series has featured some pretty big names as directors thus far, including Dave Filoni, Rick Famuyiwa, Deborah Chow, and Bryce Dallas Howard. Taika Waititi directed the final episode in the first season.

Work on season two of The Mandalorian is already under way, but no directors have been announced as of yet. Johnson's The Last Jedi may not have struck a chord with every Star Wars fan, but it did have some pretty breathtaking moments and he did bring some interesting ideas to the franchise.

Would you want to see Rian Johnson direct an episode of The Mandalorian?

Keep that hack away from the Mandalorian. He would probably make him betray baby Yoda.

The Russo Brothers have to direct an episode. Also, Josh Brolin has to have a role. Maybe a rude Bounty Hunter.
