On the eve of the launch of the Disney+ streaming service, Disney and Lucasfilm have released an awesome special look at The Mandalorian, featuring an extended look at the titular hero getting himself into all kinds of trouble.

While more will surely be revealed tomorrow when the series begins streaming, overall plot details have remained vague, but the story is said to follow The Mandalorian (Pedro Pascal), a lone bounty hunter, in the outer reaches of the galaxy as he sets out to collect a particularly difficult prize.

In addition to Pascal, the cast will also feature Gina Carano (Deadpool), Nick Nolte (Warrior), Giancarlo Esposito (Breaking Bad), Emily Swallow (Supernatural), Carl Weathers (Rocky), Omid Abtahi (The Hunger Games: Mockingjay), Taika Waititi (Avengers: Endgame), Bill Burr (F is for Family), Mark Boone Junior (Batman Begins), Ming-Na Wen (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.), Natalia Tena (Game of Thrones) and Werner Herzog (Jack Reacher).

The freshman season will feature episodes directed by Dave Filoni (Star Wars Rebels), Taika Waititi (Thor: Ragnarok), Bryce Dallas Howard (Solemates), Rick Famuyiwa (Dope) and Deborah Chow (Jessica Jones).

After the stories of Jango and Boba Fett, another warrior emerges in the Star Wars universe. “The Mandalorian” is set after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order. We follow the travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic.
