THE MANDALORIAN Picks Up Golden Globe Nomination For Best Drama Television Series

The Golden Globes nominations were just announced, and while the categories were unsurprisingly short on CBM-related content, Disney+'s The Mandalorian did pick up a nom for Best Drama Television Series.

In a somewhat surprising turn of events, The Mandalorian has picked up a Golden Globe nomination in one of the major categories.

Nominations for the 78th annual Golden Globe Awards were announced this morning, and the first ever live-action Star Wars show was nominated for Best Drama Television Series along with The Crown, Lovecraft Country, Ozark, and Ratched.

The Crown is most likely taking this one, but it's nice to see some recognition for both The Mandalorian and Lovecraft Country here.

Other notable nominations include Alexandre Desplat (The Midnight Sky) and Ludwig Göransson (Tenet) for Best Original Score, Motion Picture, and a posthumous Best Actor nom for Black Panther star Chadwick Boseman for his brilliant final performance in Ma Rainey's Black Bottom.

You can check out a full list of nominations below. This year's Golden Globes ceremony will take place on February 28, with Tina Fey and Amy Poehler hosting.
