THE MANDALORIAN Season 3 Details Reveal A Major Connection To STAR WARS: THE LAST JEDI And [SPOILER]

Some new leaked story details for The Mandalorian season 3 have been revealed, explaining how the Disney+ series is about to tie into the events of Star Wars: The Last Jedi in a potentially major way...

With The Book of Boba Fett in the rearview, Obi-Wan Kenobi is next up for Lucasfilm on Disney+. However, we're also getting Andor and The Mandalorian season 3 in 2022, and a recent leak from the latter has led to some surprising new details about the beloved show being revealed.

As you can see below, some red helmets have shown up from the set that appear to be a mix between Mandalorian armour, Stormtroopers, and Supreme Leader Snoke's Praetorian Guard.

According to Making Star Wars (via SFFGazette.com), Din Djarin will be squaring off with "red troopers and Praetorian Guards." Apparently, the latter will be shown wielding weapons exactly like those we saw in Star Wars: The Last Jedi, while the helmets below belong to Stormtroopers who are on the same ship (your guess is as good as ours when it comes to what the Mandalorian connection is).

In regards to what sounds like an exciting battle, the site notes that "this is related to the cloning story arc and maybe even Snoke himself."

We're sure you'll remember that in season 2 of The Mandalorian, Din encountered what appeared to be cloning vats with failed iterations of Snoke in them. The prevailing theory among fans is that Moff Gideon is trying to create a new body for Emperor Palpatine and that's why he wanted Grogu's blood (with Din possibly the reason Palpatine was never able to truly return).

We'll have to wait and see, but the plot has certainly thickened with this latest leak...

Please God, no. Keep The Mandalorian as far as humanly possible from that travesty of a sequel trilogy. I guess it was only a matter of time, but dammit, not everything needs to be tied together, there's nothing wrong with letting the series stand on it's own.

@JesseCuster - it's already tied to the prequel trilogy which is just as shit if not worse than the new ones. Fans need to stop this revisionist BS by acting like the new ones ruined the series. Out of 11 movies, one is actually great. 2 are good and the other 9 are all the same level of trash.

@BigPhilbowski - Revisionist bullshit? Who said I was caping for the prequels other than you putting those words in my mouth? I don't even like The Phantom Menance and I REALLY don't like Attack of the Clones, but I do think Revenge is a decent movie in a lot of ways (because I have the right to an opinion without being labeled a damn "revisionist" by some clown). Now you tell me where in my comment was I wrong for saying the sequels were bad? Which you ALSO said just now by the way?

Oh great now the shitty Palpatine Trilogy is going to be more involved with it.

Personally I'm not as hung up on my hate for the prequels and subsequent sequels to the original Star Wars trilogy as some appear to be, although I'd be the first to admit that they weren't that great and was missed opportunities in various ways, but I also think with the level of production and writing that the Disney+ series have been displaying so far, I'm confident (optimistic) that if they do go this route it will be done well. (Fingers crossed of course.)

It would be great if Carnor Jax and the emerging Crimson Empire became canon.

The Imperial Sovereign Protector Carnor Jax could be a great villain for Din Djarin.

@Repian - As cool as that would be, I don't really see it happening. We already have two Imperial remnants with Gideon's remnant and the First Order

@bkmeijer - Don't forget the Imperial remnant of Grand Admiral Thrawn. I think there are several remnants and I think Snoke will unite the empire under the banner of the First Order.

@Repian - true. And that would be pretty cool.

In my head canon that is kinda what happened already. All the remnants got united, and sneaky Palpatine just took adventage of that and put Snoke in there as the leader of the military of his empire (the First Order), while staying behind as the spiritual leader of his own empire (the Sith Eternal).

I wouldn't mind this serving as an origin for Snoke (although I still wish Snoke is just Plagieus' public identity), I don't want this to serve as just a set-up. There has be some sort of pay-off if this gonna be a whole arc

I can assure you if they try and tie this already idea deficient series to the sequel trilogy I will evacuate this planet, post haste.

Well, if those connections get too much I guess I'll stop watching The Mandalorian, and that'd probably be it for me and Star Wars. Hope it won't come to that. 🙃

@Kyos -
Lol you really thought they were gonna erase the ST all this time?

Star wars will be fine without you then

@Toonstrack - Never thought they'd erase it, just hoped they'd somewhat ignore it for the most time in the one Disney Star War I genuinely like.

And yeah, the franchise would be fine without me. I'm just a bit sad they managed to nearly drive me away.

@Toonstrack - I think the sequels have a ton of potential, so I kinda hope to see it explored more. Especially the Sith Eternal.

Anyone thinking the ST is gonna be erased is someone I can laugh at. Star Wars will be fine indeed

I can't lie, I had high hopes for Snoke. Such a wasted villain. A Palpatine clone? Really? He seemed much better as a scheming Sith, waiting out the Emperor's downfall to rise up. Andy Serkis did a fantastic job. So did the VFX artists. He was powerful, delighted in being evil, and truly felt like he fit in the Star Wars universe.

Too bad he died like a chump

I don't really see the point of this. What does tying that into Mandalorian really matter and/or accomplish for this story and this character, in a non tacked on way?
Vigor
Vigor - 3/14/2022, 8:46 AM
@dagenspear - its always been tied to it. It's the entire arc of Grogu
They even tie to Palpatine return in bad batch.
