THE MANDALORIAN Season 3 May Have Already Introduced SKELETON CREW's Main Villain

Season 3 of The Mandalorian is well underway, but with Skeleton Crew also on the horizon, a new report suggests the Disney+ series has already introduced that show's big bad. Read on for the latest...

Not much has been revealed about Disney+'s Star Wars: Skeleton Crew, though we expect it to follow Jude Law's mystery character along with a group of children who end up being lost in the Galaxy.

Jon Watts (Spider-Man: No Way Home) and Christopher Ford (Chaos Walking) are developing the project under Jon Favreau's watch, with the story set to play out in the same timeframe as The Mandalorian. Now, Bespin Bulletin (via SFFGazette.com) has added to recent rumours that suggest the show's villains will be a group of pirates.

The site theorises that the school building being besieged by the pirates in The Mandalorian's season 3 premiere may, in fact, be home to Law's character and the kids under his watch.

That adds up if correct, but it's confirmed here that the pirates from "The Apostate" are, in fact, the same ones that will feature heavily in Skeleton Crew. The site even believes that Pirate King Gorian Shard is going to be the show's lead villain, something we can believe given the importance placed on what proved to be a largely throwaway appearance.

There are those who didn't appreciate that goofy character design, though it may be explained by the direction the spin-off is heading in.

"I’ve heard mixed things regarding the series with some sources calling it 'campy' and told me to think more Book of Boba Fett than The Mandalorian," the site reveals, "but I’ve also been told that the series is 'good' and 'fun.'"

It also sounds like we shouldn't expect to see Skeleton Crew until much later this year, but with Star Wars Celebration fast approaching, we're sure more details - and a possible first look - will be revealed then.

Carey Jones, who previously played Man-Thing in Werewolf by Night and Black Krrsantan in The Book of Boba Fett, portrayed Shard in The Mandalorian, though it's unclear whether he will voice him in Skeleton Crew.

As always, stay tuned to SFFGazette.com for updates.

Looks like how Swamp Thing would probably look if Alec Holland stayed his normal size rather than becoming a hulking giant

that checks out.
When I watch the episode, all I was thinking was that they put way too much love into those pirates characters and especially the boss and his spaceship to be just a one-off.

If the Show is about pirates, you know who I want to see.

I don't know why Twitter was blowing up today about how bad the episode tonight was going to be.
These people are so quick to sound the death knell for Star Wars.

I enjoyed the episode. It gave us a different look at Coruscant and how the New Republic is running things.
