Venom: Let There Be Carnage, the sequel to 2018's Venom starring Tom Hardy, doesn't land in theaters until September, but Venom fans can rejoice as there's a new book on its way to get you up to speed with Venom's comic book history!

Marvel's The Philosophy of Venom - the 128 page hardcover published by Titan Comics that digs into the comic history of the original symbiote - lands next week, July 13th, and is currently available for pre-order from Amazon.com, Forbidden Planet.

Titan Comics is celebrating the upcoming release with 12 days of Venom, and has been kind enough to share an exclusive interior image with CBM, which we've included below.

The Philosophy of Venom gets into the mind - or minds - of Venom: eat, save, kill, repeat! Is he psychotic or vulnerable, and what makes sense to a ravenous symbiote from outer space? The new book digs into Venom's fears, loves, and pure hunger that drives the popular anti-hero with a look at his favorite moments, best friends, worst enemies, epic comic action, and some awesome cover art.

I thought Venom was a mildly interesting character back in the very early Eddie Brock/Todd McFarlane days, but he quickly became one-note and boring to me. Hopefully, Disney will eventually get all their rights back away from Sony before they finish tarnishing the reputations of all those characters.

Off topic: Mr. Stark?...

@Feralwookiee

Agreed. Disney’s Venom would return the character back to the high art he is. Goddammit.

@dragon316 - I'm not great at reading word-salad, but Sony hasn't and has no plans to make a Rated R Venom movie either, so i don't see your point.

Venom is still at his best as a spider-man villain/frenemy. The further he gets from Spidey the more boring and one note he becomes. He’s still one of my favorite spider-man villains but he’s best when they get back to his roots.

Kaiju Venom reminded me of the Dark Avengers: Venom run. It was weird.
