VENOM 3 Rumored To "Explore The Multiverse" And Finally Pit Eddie Brock Against Spider-Man (But Which One?)

If a new rumour is to be believed, it sounds like Venom 3 is really going to up the ante by further exploring the Multiverse by pitting Eddie Brock against Spider-Man...the question is, which Peter Parker?

WARNING: Spoilers for Spider-Man: No Way Home and Venom: Let There Be Carnage follow!

In Venom: Let There Be Carnage's one and only post-credits scene, Eddie Brock was transported to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and the stage was seemingly set for a clash with Peter Parker. That didn't happen, though we did catch up with the reporter at the end of Spider-Man: No Way Home when he was sent back to his own world (right after saying he should go and find the wall-crawler).

The door appears to have been closed on that long-awaited face-off for now, but "scooper" Daniel Richtman (via CBR) has now claimed that the next Venom movie will "explore the Multiverse" with "Venom finally meeting and fighting Spider-Man."

Nothing happened in Spider-Man: No Way Home to suggest Peter Parker will now swing between realities, and it appears the hero is staying put in the MCU. Venom: Let There Be Carnage made a point of explaining that the symbiote has knowledge of countless realities (likely meaning he knows Spider-Man is Peter Parker), so perhaps it will be Venom who finds a way to travel between worlds?

A piece of the Venom symbiote was left behind in the MCU, so it's not outside the realm of possibility that the alien could use that to travel between worlds...with or without Eddie in tow!

The prevailing theory right now is that Sony Pictures will use Venom 3 to bring Andrew Garfield back as Spider-Man. It's certainly a possibility, but with Morbius referencing Venom, graffiti with Tobey Maguire's web-slinger, the Oscorp building from The Amazing Spider-Man, and a cameo from MCU baddie Adrian Toomes (Michael Keaton), that movie might finally clear things up.

Which Spider-Man do you hope Venom crosses paths with?

I'm tired of the multiverse

Cap1
Cap1 - 12/29/2021, 11:50 AM
@bkmeijer - I used to (stupidly) trust him but now i’ve realised he’s a nuisance that either reports likely news as a ‘scoop’ or hijacks someone elses
bkmeijer2
bkmeijer2 - 12/29/2021, 11:52 AM
@Cap1 - exactly. Pretty much anything he said that turned out true was either an educated guess or something that was reported earlier (or even things I saw users on here speculate about before him)
Cap1
Cap1 - 12/29/2021, 11:55 AM
@bkmeijer - lots of people take his words as gospel too. I bet he’s just some dweeb sitting in his mum’s basement with notifications on for every outlet so he can report their news quickly
bkmeijer2
bkmeijer2 - 12/29/2021, 12:00 PM
@Cap1 - I don't actually follow him so I don't know how quickly he reports something (and so I don't know how much he also says that turns out untrue), but his word is definitely taken as gospel at times

@TheWalkingCuban - Not just from NWH. What if, Loki, Spider-verse Cws Flash where ever Morbius is taking place. I feel like it's being overdone
TheWalkingCuban
TheWalkingCuban - 12/29/2021, 12:21 PM
@TJJones96 - I get that. Tv def got there first for superheroes, to me it’s less the concept and more the conflict. The competition: like civil war and BvS. Gotg and SS. Like do it it’s fine, but all up on top of each other? At least the CW did it earlier on abs it simply continued on, so really the others joined the fray, but I quit watching it a while back, so it feels separate from spiderverse, multiverse, and flashpoint. How could it not feel like that once flash comes out? For spiderverse was what it was from the door, multiverse was mentioned even in 2019, months before, guess Flash will have its built in purpose as well, but dang you ain’t wrong. It’s a lot. I’m not bothered but I understand

I would love Garfield to do his thing again without Sony involvement, otherwise we get TASM 1 and 2 again plus Venom....which was not good imo.

I know so many people want to see Andrew again in the role but Sony being the only voice for it in their own universe makes me super nervous.
bkmeijer2
bkmeijer2 - 12/29/2021, 11:49 AM
@Menks123 - that's why they should just atleast give Marvel a call and ask for some notes (and don't disregard them or throw sandwiches at them this time)
Menks123
Menks123 - 12/29/2021, 11:51 AM
@bkmeijer - Yeah, at the very least for sure.
bkmeijer2
bkmeijer2 - 12/29/2021, 11:54 AM
@Menks123 - now that I think about it, they can even set the movie right after TASM2 (as Andrew's Peter stopped pulling his punches, and him get the symbiote is a good reason for that).
Nemesis17then
Nemesis17then - 12/29/2021, 11:59 AM
@bkmeijer - They can't because he said he hasn't fought any Aliens. So the movie should be set after he starting pulling his punches again in order for them to include Venom.
bkmeijer2
bkmeijer2 - 12/29/2021, 12:01 PM
@Nemesis17then - oh yeah forgot about that part. Could also say he didn't know it was an alien, but that seems unlikely (given that his noteworthy action was fighting a mobsters in a rhino tank)
Nemesis17then
Nemesis17then - 12/29/2021, 12:03 PM
@bkmeijer - Yeah also i am confused because it seemed to me that at the end of TASM2 he was the good Spider-Man again. So maybe the time-period he was reffereing to was between her death and the ending of TASM2?
Origame
Origame - 12/29/2021, 12:24 PM
@bkmeijer - I mean, given his dialogue in no way home when Tobey talked about fighting his version of venom, I think it's clear he didn't get the suit after tasm2. Besides, they're clearly bringing the suit in for Tom Holland. And I'd rather not have two separate Spiderman series tackling the black suit saga at the same time.
Origame
Origame - 12/29/2021, 12:26 PM
@Nemesis17then - I mean, I took it that he was just sticking to being Spiderman since that's where anything good in his life came from. Not that he was being a "good guy" spiderman.
bkmeijer2
bkmeijer2 - 12/29/2021, 12:40 PM
@Origame - yeah me neither. Could seperate it though by just having Garfield's Peter meeting Eddie/Venom, but not wearing the symbiote and Tom's Peter get that off-shoot puece of the symbiote
Nemesis17then
Nemesis17then - 12/29/2021, 12:48 PM
@Origame - Who knows. Guess we'll find out in 2024
bkmeijer2
bkmeijer2 - 12/29/2021, 11:51 AM
Kinda hope it will be Andrew's Spider-Man, since NWH seemingly set up a different version of Venom for Tom's Spider-Man.

And I kinda doubt they are gonna make this version of Venom a full blown villain opposite Spider-Man. They probably end up working together against a bigger threat (Hybrid or Knull maybe?)
TheWalkingCuban
TheWalkingCuban - 12/29/2021, 12:10 PM
@bkmeijer - Hear me out on this, what if Toby and Andrew reappeared right in front of each other still and they say “I guess it didn’t work”, but they look at the Statue of Liberty and say “I guess it did work, is this my world or yours?” In stereo. So they look around, and in the process of the film we see their two worlds merged.

Forget it, it was stupid
bkmeijer2
bkmeijer2 - 12/29/2021, 12:40 PM
@TheWalkingCuban - as a gag I like it, but I'm not a fan of multiverse universes merging in general
TheWalkingCuban
TheWalkingCuban - 12/29/2021, 12:46 PM
@bkmeijer - yeah that’s why I stopped myself lol
bkmeijer2
bkmeijer2 - 12/29/2021, 12:48 PM
@TheWalkingCuban - I can imagine JK Simmons' JJJ be in the world of TASM too though, just again with a slightly different haircut
PhoenixBlade
PhoenixBlade - 12/29/2021, 12:53 PM
@bkmeijer - I wouldn’t be surprised if Marvel cast Tom Hardy as MCU Eddie and the bit of Venom left behind will hunt him down. Whole symbiote arc happening with Eddie as the villain. Meanwhile the Sony-verse Eddie will remain as is. Could have them meet and fuse as one later down the line. That way Hardy gets both universes as different versions of the same character and gets to go up against Holland and Garfield.
