VENOM Takes A Bite Out Of Some Life Foundation Goons In This Action-Packed New TV Spot

VENOM Takes A Bite Out Of Some Life Foundation Goons In This Action-Packed New TV Spot

A new TV spot for Venom has landed and this one shows off some great new footage of Tom Hardy's Eddie Brock as he transforms into Venom, leaps into action, and - obviously - chows down on some brains...

The marketing campaign for Venom is finally in full swing it seems because another new TV spot has been released today and this one features some never before seen footage from the Marvel Comics adaptation. While it's fair to say we've all had our doubts about this one, there's no denying that the Symbiote looks great in action and Sony Pictures has clearly spent plenty of money on visual effects.

Among the new shots in this teaser are Eddie Brock transforming into Venom, the Symbiote leaping into action, and the anti-hero seemingly getting ready to take a bite out of crime...by eating someone's head! All of that should make fans of the source material happy regardless of Spider-Man's lack of involvement and it's starting to feel like we could all end up being pleasantly surprised by this one.

What do you guys think? As always, share your thoughts on that in the comments section down below.

I don't mess with goons. There's usually like a few dozen of them in a given level.

I didn't have my doubts and I never cared if Spider-Man was involved or not.

Will you please STOP pretending that you know how the rest of us feel and that your thoughts are shared by the rest us?

I doubt it.

Awesome spot. Like how Eddie suits up into Venom.

Those shots were Venom effortlessly lifts up his foes with one hand are great.

They are really saving the head/brain chopping for hopefully the theatrical release.

Origame - 9/20/2018, 3:23 AM
@NinnesMBC - not really saving it, more not showing because they want all their ads and trailers to run in theaters and you cant have gore in a green band trailer.

@NinnesMBC -
SPOILERS
According to leaks, all the head/brain chopping occurs off-screen or cuts away. I believe they mentioned that we do see a silhouette of a headless goon or two at one point, but its apparently fairly tame in regards to the visuals. The main reason for this is that they want the deaths caused by the villains, such as someone getting sliced in half to seem more villainous than Venom's head eating.

@Scarilian - what a shock for a pg13 movie to cut away from that stuff

New footage looking pretty good.

I'm no longer worried about the look or the graphics or the acting, now pretty much the only thing I'm worried about is how quality the story is. If it's a phenomenal tale, I'm all in. But my gut says it will be classic manufactured blockbuster action cliche bs.

Actually the action for this looks pretty good. I still like Venom's look as well. I'm just not a fan of the overall tone (which seems a bit all over the place), the acting and dialogue so far. We'll see how the script is.

@NinnesMBC - Great pick. True Detective Season 1 was pretty damn good.

Apparently they are going for a sequel focusing around Planet Of The Symbiotes, so if this is successful the next movie will be a Symbiote/Alien invasion story-line rather than Carnage as people expect.
AyMan
AyMan - 9/20/2018, 8:48 AM
@Scarilian - Or maybe a Maximum Carnage movie?

@AyMan - maximum carnage without spiderman?

ugh.

Also planet of the symbiotes with JUST venom??
AyMan
AyMan - 9/20/2018, 11:36 AM
@ftf530 - To be fair, Maximum Carnage is just as much as a Venom story as it is a Spider-Man story. In fact moreso a Venom story than ever.

I mean I can't expect a DIRECT ADAPTATION, but something might of that story in the sequel. Hell I mean the movie is a loose adaptation of two Venom stories rolled into one.
ftf530
ftf530 - 9/20/2018, 12:22 PM
@AyMan - and I'm still not a fan of doing this character without spiderman

it's like doing joker without batman, they'd never do that---oh, wait...
AyMan
AyMan - 9/21/2018, 8:47 AM
@ftf530 - Well Maximum Carnage had MORBIUS, so I can expect him to show up in the film too.

But no doubt, Maximum Carnage is the OBVIOUS route for the next movie. When it comes out, you will see.
ftf530
ftf530 - 9/21/2018, 8:56 AM
@AyMan - I guess. This all assumes I want to see more after seeing this movie (which I just have 0 expectations for).
AyMan
AyMan - 9/21/2018, 9:51 AM
@ftf530 - I'm going to be honest, if they make a sequel so be it, but for someone who saw the movie I can assure you I won't care for a sequel.

Pending how they do it because Woody (for the short time he is in it) has a lot of potential to be a really good Cletus. So that is ONE character I look forward too, but not enough for a ticket. Nope.
ftf530
ftf530 - 9/21/2018, 10:39 AM
@AyMan - ah so he is Cletus

didn't know that

ah well
AyMan
AyMan - 9/21/2018, 11:43 AM
@ftf530 - Yeah, which honestly...he is a damn good choice. Too bad the script/story could of been a lot better, as well as even the CGI as some parts make it seem the CGI is outdated.

I always felt if they were going to do this right, they needed to simplify the story. Instead they blow their wad with this Life Foundation cliche plot-thread and have this excuse of "well, THE COMICS" WELL...WHERE'S SPIDER-MAN!?

I just feel it should of been a lot more simpiler than all these damn symbiote craziness running around.

On a positive note, the cast did well with what they had, the relationship between Eddie & Venom is SPOT FRIGGIN ON, and scenes where Venom is just being a vigilante is pretty cool too (Like the store scene) but again, the film is boggled down by conspiracy theories, cliche big evil corporation that I've seen in not just one, or two, but a total of FOUR Spider-Man films already, and the story is bland and something a SyFy channel original movie would make (Yeah...very harsh on that)

My opinion is, if you got a movie money, save it for another movie. Venom is worth the weekend rental though.

Josh...josh...josh. Why are you so bad at your job? I’m sure you meant ‘bite’ but what should we expect from somebody with zero journalistic standards such as yourself. And I’m sure you’ll delete all the comments pointing out your mistake after you fixed it because god forbid you actually proof one of your horrid articles before posting. Do better comic book movie.com. This is embarrassing to keep letting this guy get front page headlines....that aren’t even SPELLED CORRECTLY.

I am way to skeptical of this film already. I need to give it a chance before writing it off.
