We still don't know an awful lot about Assassin's Creed. Despite the fact that the movie will be based on the hit Ubisoft video game franchise, there has been no word on which era (various instalments in the series take place in different historical periods) the movie will be set in. Even more to the point, we know nothing about a writer or director either! Thankfully, it appears as if news on that will be coming soon as 20th Century Fox have given it a release date of May 22nd, 2015. The developers of the video games will play a big role in its development and Michael Fassbender has been attached to star since it was first announced. Stay tuned for more!

WOO HOO! 2015 is finally gonna show me what it's like to be a woman capable of multiple orgasms. Avengers 2, Star Wars, Assassin's Creed, etc.!!!!!!!!!!!!

More than likely it'll be a new assassin, new time period. Unless the want to use the pirate setting of the new one which would be very interesting.

The movie will probably be mediocre at best.

Never played the games, but the concept sounded cool. I like Fassbender. I'd likely rent it, though...at least until I try the games.

LOLz. Assassin's Creed is great, yes, post-Brotherhood, they've milked the tit a little too hard but it's not Call of Duty bad... Yet.

With the actual game creator team involved, this'll be the best video game to screen movie in the genre.

man I REALLY hope this is good. I love the Assassins Creed franchise and Michael Fassbender has been one of my favorite actors ever since I first saw him in X-men FC

I think it'd be awesome to see any of the games' stories translated to the big screen. Personally, I want the ACII story, Ezio all the way!

Just wonder how it will really work out - is this the beginning of a cinematic franchise or is it gonna be a stand alone.

Even with Fassbender the movie has a 99.9% chance of being terrible.

Someone help me out here. I can't think of one above average videogame movie. The first Tomb Raider, maybe?

@TheBoss117 Do you no comprende, hombre? Tomb Raider was soley a Hollywood action movie with Jolie in tight spandex. This is a game, being creating by the actual game developers. 99.9% my ass.

Yeah, the original Mortal Kombat is pretty good. The PG-13 part always bugged me, but its fun. All other game based movies have been terrible.

I would love to see Uncharted to become a movie that would be so great. The game already has great characters now they just need to make UNCHARTED HAPPEN!!

It'll be in competition with Marvel Studios's installment for that year, since it's usually their time slot.

Also, [frick] YOU CONNER KENWAY. Shittiest Assassin ever.

The rumour was that Fassbender was going to play Desmond, not the Assassin.

But yes, of course, bring it on !

Wow! Are people are going to release movies in the month of May of that year? I wouldn't want to be anywhere near Avengers 2 on that month, but I know WB will try to release a movie in that month.

no one else thinks a german/irishman playing a middle easterner is a poor choice?
he could barley hide his irish accent in xmen first class (especially at the end on the beach). I have little faith in him pulling off arabic.

White washing yet again. Nice one, Fassbender.
I completely agree with @Carl
Nobody objects to this because "Oh, hey! He's a good actor! He was great as Magneto! This is gonna be good!"
Tired of this shit.
