A teaser for the Halo TV series coming to Paramount+ leaked online last month, and we now have another (officially released) sneak peek. The show certainly has the look and feel of a big budget blockbuster, which is appropriate given the sheer scale of the popular Xbox franchise.

The full trailer for the series will premiere during The Game Awards on Thursday, so we'll no doubt get a much better idea of what to expect when that arrives.

Halo takes place in the universe that first came to be in 2001, dramatizing an epic 26th-century conflict between humanity and an alien threat known as the Covenant. The series will weave deeply drawn personal stories with action, adventure, and a richly imagined vision of the future.

Pablo Schreiber (Orange Is the New Black) will be playing Master Chief, the iconic Spartan super soldier and humanity’s last hope against the alien Covenant. Joining him in the impressive ensemble cast are Natasha McElhone (Californication) as both Dr. Catherine Halsey and Cortana, Bokeem Woodbine (Overlord) as Soren-066, Shabana Azmi (Fire) as Admiral Margaret Parangosky, Bentley Kalu (Avengers: Age of Ultron) as Spartan Vannak-134, Natasha Culzac (The Witcher) as Spartan Riz-028, and Kate Kennedy (Catastrophe) as Spartan Kai-125.

Otto Bathurst (Robin Hood) will be directing and executive producing Paramount+'s adaptation of the Halo series, while Jonathan Liebesman, Roel Reiné, and Jessica Lowrey also direct.

I remember when Halo 3 came out. There was nothing in this world I loved more than Halo. 15 years later, it`s a little harder to care.

@TheMapleSyrup - I don't understand the praise for Infinite. Is it better than 4 and 5, yes, but it still doesn't feel like Halo to me. I just play The Master Chief Collection instead lol.

Looking epic. If it's anything close to this, we're in for a treat.

I have watched a lot of garbage space shows that I enjoyed purely because it's a space show. I just adore the setting.

Even if the story of this is garbage, as long as they nail the action I'm so in.
Visually it looks bonkers good for TV at least.

@Themeparkmovies - When I first read this comment I laughed at the idea. But....if they did a Firtnite movie or show and made it in the same kind of vein as Battle Royale? That could actually be pretty awesome.

With the release of the game tomorrow, they couldn't have picked a better time to show the show. Here's hoping it lives up to the games though (only played ODST, Reach and 4, but I'm sure the rest is pretty good too)

I'm trying to not get my hopes up, but the teasers seem to capture the look well. Please be good!

Ot: Finished the Connery/Lazenbi era of James Bond, the Blofeld trilogy. I like YOLT, it's really stupid, dumb fun, but enjoyable in its way. A clear quality drop off from how great the previous 4 were. OHMSS is easily a top 5 Bond movie, just fantastic from start to finish, I was in tears at the end. DaF is just bad, it would be serviceable on its own if Connery weren't doing the absolute least he could get away with.
I really don't like the change they made in Thunderball were the action is sped up, it looks very janky in action with very poor transitions. It looks good for the car chases, but it ruins the fight scenes.

Blofeld, villain of the hour. Savalas is the best Blofeld by a mile, the other guys do what they can with what they have, but are just eh. Pleasence has the iconic look, but that's about it; he softly calls out orders before someone repeat yells them for 98% of the movie. Gray is just very smarmy. They're all fine for their films, but only Savalas sells him as the big archvillain enemy to Bond it's the one that can proudly stand with Goldfinger and Largo.

Finally, Lazenby; in short he's superb as Bond. He feels a bit like early Connery at times, being more vulnerable and his 1-liners being said dryly without the gusto Connery added to it later on, honestly the whole movie is a back-to-basics with less gadgets and a more serious tone. His sexism getting turned down makes it easier to watch. He's a bit green and doesn't always nail it, but he works well.

Here’s hoping the Spartan actors don’t try hard to be cool. It should be quiet and effortlessly speak for itself.
