The movie producer company Occupant Entertainment together with the game company Deep Silver, just announced that a movie based on the game Dead Island is on the works. The project, which three years ago was linked to Lionsgate but never got the green light, is already on development.

Shooting is planned to start in the first trimester of 2015. The costs of production will be divided between both companies. Dead Island was an action role-playing survival horror video game developed by the Polish developer Techland and published by German studio Deep Silver.

No release date was announced yet.

@ ManCalledSting

You're right, English is not my first language. However, it shouldn't be a huge problem in future articles. The excitement of writing my first article messed it up with the language. I'll take care in the future. Thanks for letting me now though.

Glitchy and all, this was a great game. The infected screams still haunt me.

@ SwanRonson

They did not even announce the director yet, so probably it will take a while until any cast news surface.

Liked the first game alot, didn't get a chance to play Riptide, and excited about Dead Island 2. But a movie? It has alot of potential, hope they don't mess it up.
