SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING Star Tom Holland Signs On To Play A Young Nathan Drake In The UNCHARTED Movie
Sony Pictures' Uncharted has been "reconfigured" to feature a younger version of the Nathan Drake character, and he's going to be played by none other than our new Spider-Man, Tom Holland...
Deadline reports that Sony's Uncharted movie will star Spider-Man: Homecoming actor Ton Holland as treasure-hunting hero Nathan Drake, and if he seems a little young for the role, that's because the studio has made some significant changes to their plans for the franchise.
While the first Uncharted video game kicks-off with Drake as an adult, this big-screen adaptation will actually serve as the prequel to that story and introduce a teenage incarnation of the character. Apparently, the plot will borrow from the third act of the most recent game, Uncharted 4: A Thief's End, and outline how Drake first encountered his mentor, Sully.
Sony has been trying to get an Uncharted movie off the ground for many years now, and after numerous false starts they've finally settled on Shawn Levy (Real Steel, Night at The Museum) to direct. Joe Carnahan worked on the most recent draft of the script, but this report suggests someone else will be hired to pen a new one.
