Only time will tell what the future holds in store for Tom Holland's Spider-Man, but the actor could soon have another action franchise on his hands thanks to the big screen adaptation of Uncharted.
Now, we have the first poster for the movie, with Holland put front and centre as Nathan Drake. While he's a little bit younger than the version of the adventurer we know from the hit PlayStation franchise, it's fair to say he looks pretty damn perfect as Nate. The same can't be said for Mark Wahlberg's Sully, though, and the actor could be posing for pretty much any generic action flick here.
Wahlberg's casting has been a real sticking point for Uncharted fans, and while a moustache really shouldn't matter that much, the Transformers star remains an odd pick for this particular character.
Based on one of the best-selling, most critically acclaimed video game series of all time, Uncharted introduces audiences to the young street-smart Nathan Drake (Tom Holland) and showcases his first treasure hunting adventure with wisecracking partner Victor "Sully" Sullivan (Mark Wahlberg). In an action-adventure epic that spans the globe, the two go in dangerous pursuit of "the greatest treasure never found" while also tracking clues that may lead to Nathan’s long-lost brother.
Directed by Ruben Fleischer from a screenplay by Rafe Judkins and Art Marcum & Matt Holloway, the movie stars Tom Holland, Mark Wahlberg, Sophia Ali, Tati Gabrielle, and Antonio Banderas.
Uncharted is set to arrive in theaters on February 18. In the UK, it arrives a little sooner on February 11.
