Banner Arkham Origins by Rocksteady

Moments ago, a new rumor surfaced specifying that Rocksteady's next DC Comics video game adaptation will be titled Batman Arkham Origins and that it will be released sometime during the 3rd Quarter of 2013 on Sony and Microsoft's next-gen consoles.. Footage is expected to debut at the annual video game convention E3 in June. As previously thought, the game is said to be a Silver Age prequel that will include Justice League members Superman, Green Lantern and others. Hopefully, the chatter that will undoubtedly spring forth from this latest rumor will prompt WB and Rocksteady to issue an official statement.

Take note that this new report partially conflicts with a previous news story which stated that an Arkham City sequel NOT prequel would be released in 2013 and that the Rocksteady Silver Age game wouldn't be released until 2014 at the earliest. Furthermore, that earlier report also specified that Rocksteady WAS NOT the developer of the Batman sequel.

A few months ago, Time Warner CFO John Martin let slip during an earnings report that an unspecified Batman game will indeed be released between Oct. and Dec. of 2013. We'll have to wait and see whether Martin was referring to the Silver Age prequel from Rocksteady or the Arkham City sequel from an as-yet-unspecified developer. CBM will keep you updated on any further developments as the story unfolds.

it will probably be the for the PS3/PS4 and 360/720, they had that last time (released games for both generations) for about a year then it became only the next gen stuff.

That whole Silver age thing sounds stupid to me. Just complete an Arkham trilogy that all take place after the previous game. Then move on to somethin else.

I see this Silver Age project as the equivalent to Bungie's Halo 3: ODST. it is their cool side story they give to fans to help hold them until they finish their big project.

I would like a new Batman game, but don't know about a pre-sequal. I'd like Batman game where it didn't concentrate on Joker. They could adapt the Court of Owls etc. also I'd like to be able to drive the Batmobile in this one. Make the driving sequences like Sleeping Dogs and you can't go wrong. It would be nice to actually be in Gotham as well instead of some kind of Arkham prison.

Perhaps make a mass break out in Gotham? That would be even more epic!

@marvel, did u get my last msg the other day? I did some research and found out that xboxs native resolution is 720, but for games they upscale, so it's not actually 1080. Ps3 has blu ray tech, which can handle 1080. The easiest way to say it is that xboxs 1080 = ps3s 720. That's why the same games are labeled as such.

I do NOT enjoy the idea of a prequel taking place for the next game. :( I really wanted to see some continuation from where Arkham City left off. [frick] I'll probably still buy it once I see some game footage but until then I'm shady about this entire "prequel" idea for everything...smh

@jessepostal I know about the up scaling on the 360. Still 360 graphics look better. Look on Gamespot were they compare games like Far Cry 3 or Assassin's Creed 2 on the 360 to the PS3 and most of them will say it looks better on 360.

@marvel, i think it depends on the game itself, Ive seen those comparisons and every thing looks different on different set ups. Color temperatures and everything can change appearance. Im still stickin with sony :) Whats your gamer tag ill send you a request?

Prequel or sequel it will sell they've already proven that they know how to make a Batman game.Lets see them handle other characters like Flash,Wonder Woman,or Green Lantern.HGopefully they can make another DC hero game as good as the Arkham series.

I'm not liking the silverage/justice league premise. The foundations for third game were established in Arkham city. It was set up for Scarecrow and Hush to be the main villians and take revenge on batman. The league of assassins would most likely return along with Azrael and the sacred order. The joker the main villian again? he got the perfect exit and close to his story in Arkham city. It kinda ruins his well written death. We should be getting a Arkham Terror game not an origins game.

However i'm still greatly looking foward to the game and it will most likely be one of the best games of the year

Next Arkham City game should be crossover between Batman and Batman Beyond...like some case the Bruce never fully solved that rears it's ugly head when Terry is Batman, so you get to explore two Gotham cities and Arkham asylums. Make this happen thanks.
