Okey Dokey loyal readers...I have good news, and bad news.
So, I'm going to give it to you in the
form of "Good idea, Bad idea."
Good idea:
There will be three different versions of
Assassin's Creed 3 that will be available for pre-order. Here they are:
Freedom Edition The
Freedom Edition comes equipped with:
-The game (derp)
-24cm figurine of Connor (the new Assassin)
-A steelbook case with exclusive art by Alex Ross (a pretty sweet bonus for nerds)
-George Washington's secret notebook
-One exclusive lithograph
-2 single-player missions that will unlock Captain Kidd's Cutlass, and The Pontiac's War Club
-1 Multiplayer package with several unlockables
Join or Die Edition The
Join or Die Edition comes with
-The game (derp again)
-The medallion of the Assassins, emblazoned with Benjamin Franklin’s political cartoon “Join or Die”
-George Washington's Notebook
-Pontiac's Warclub mission
-The multiplayer package
Bad idea:
The
Freedom Edition and the
Join or Die Edition are only confirmed for sale in Europe, Middle East, and Africa. If you live in the Americas, and you pre-order, you will be given the "Special Edition", or the "Signature Edition" as it's called.
The
Signature Edition Comes with:
-The game
-Steelbook case
-A single-player mission to unlock the Flintlock Musket (note that it is not included in the other editions)
I can confirm to you that the Signature Edition and this "Special Edition" are the same thing. I have a friend at Gamestop, the manger of the store, who told me that will come with some other goodies, but they are unsure as to what they are. I will have you know as well that the last time I thought I was getting screwed over by Collector's Edition marketing, I was able to buy the extra content AT Gamestop without having to buy the Collector's Edition for extra cash. So...this may not be the "be all end all" of the situation.
Assassin's Creed 3 comes out on October 30th.
By the way, if you've never heard of "Good idea, Bad idea", here's a good example.
