The United States has a military presence in two thirds of the countries around the world. A group of 12 have had enough and initiate a terror ultimatum called the Blacklist – a deadly countdown of escalating terrorist attacks on US interests. Sam Fisher is the leader of the newly formed Fourth Echelon unit: a clandestine unit that answers solely to the President of the United States. Sam and his team must hunt down these terrorists by any means necessary, and stop the Blacklist countdown before it reaches zero.

Splinter Cell: Blacklist will be released on Playstation 3, Xbox 360 and PC on August 20th, 2013.

I wonder if the new movies are set in the same universe as the games; Chris Pine's Jack Ryan and Tom Hardy's Same Fisher stories interweave leading to a Ghost Recon Movie...

I'm so stoked for this game! I'm such a huge fan of the entire series...

@HULK2099: I'm having trouble seeing it too, but I'll give it a shot. Hardy is a damn decent actor, so it might be OK.

P.S. To Everyone:

Please go check out my FanCast for the Splinter Cell movie. I worked on it for a long time, and I'm actually quite proud of it!

@Killuminatic

No, they arent. Tom Hardy is also going to play John Clark in a Without Remorse movie which is in the same universe as Jack Ryan.

The perfect comparison would be Chris Evans playing the Human Torch in Fantastic Four, then going over to play Captain America in the MCU, they are two seperate universes.
Tom Hardy will be playing John Clark in the Jack Ryan universe owned by Paramount while Tom will also by playing Sam Fisher in the movie produced by Ubisoft and New Regency

Sam Fisher and Jack Ryan are both Tom Clancy characters but they are owned by different studios

I really enjoyed Splinter Cell: Conviction. Man, I'm going to miss Michael Ironside as Sam Fisher.

I just hope in this game it will be like the older Splinter Cell games where you can choose to use non-lethal force.

One of my all time favorite series. I like everything I'm seeing outside of the VA change from Ironside. Still not sure why they didn't just use him or go with another protagonist, but I'll reserve judgment for now.

This game is already on my Birthday list, it comes out the day after :-D. Loved playing Ubisoft's Tom Clancy games for many years now, even Endwar & H.A.W.X. I'm hoping the Megido organisation mentioned in Conviction and H.A.W.X. 2 becomes more of a presence. Also, if you cast your mind back to events at the end of Rainbow Six Vegas 2, corrupt former Rainbow operative Gabriel Nowak mentions he was going to sell personal details of current operatives to "an organisation", who could very well turn out to be Megido, so it looks like Ubisoft could be linking all Tom Clancy games together in the same universe, with Megido as the overall antagonist. Or at least that's what I'm hoping.
@ mgeoff88 - Yeah, I miss some of the elements they got rid of from the early games. Still, what made Conviction just as good in another way was stalking and eliminating everyone you came across without being detected, and you got a genuine feeling that Sam Fisher was well and truly "pissed off". I guess if he's on a rampage to find his daughter's killer though all thoughts of using non-lethal force go out the window lol.

Roll on August 20th!

P.S. Ghost Recon Future Soldier has been thrown into the mix aswell as that and H.A.W.X. 2 are both set during the same conflict. Add that to that the fact that at the end of the game you are ordered not to kill the last member of Raven's Rock by orders "from the top", it makes one wonder why this guy is so important. Although they are not mentioned, does he have some connection to Megido.
I only think this because at the end of H.A.W.X. 2, Splinter Cell Conviction, Vegas 2, and Future Soldier, there are some loose ends that haven't been cleaned up, with people either mentioning "an organisation" or directly mentioning Megido, leaving all the games on a kind of cliffhanger.
I'm probably wrong but it's nice to speculate.

@RyKnow In Conviction, you could make choices at certain parts of the game. Lol, that's at least something.

I picked all the good choices. I got the best ending, you know, I spared the main bad guy. The one part I hated is when the game forced you to slap Anna/Grim. I know she told Sam to slap her to make it look like he convincingly escaped by force, but I still felt bad. I wish you could've chosen another way without having to slap her, so it didn't look like an inside job.

@ mgeoff88 - I could be wrong, but are you sure you're not getting mixed up with Double Agent? In that there are many points in the game where you get to decide how to complete a mission, gaining and losing trust from Third Echelon and/or The JBA along the way, and depending how you're trust is at the end of the game, you get one of three endings. I know you could make "some" choices in Conviction but they had no impact on the narrative, and I've played it through twice, sparing Tom Reed the first time, executing him the second, and got the same ending (bearing in mind that he gets killed either way anyway). Unless I'm missing something. If I am, could you let me know mate, I'd be really interested in seeing an alternative ending. Cheers buddy :)
