As promised, the newest playable character for NetherRealm's Injustice 2 has been revealed and it's none other than Alec Holland aka Swamp Thing. The Avatar of the Green brings the number of known playable characters to 22, including character skin-swaps.
The game's story opens five years after the events of Injustice, with High Councilor Superman imprisoned and Batman leading rebuilding efforts, Brainiac arrives to threaten the entire planet, forcing the Caped Crusader to assemble a new team of heroes and villains to combat the threat. Meanwhile, a shadowy new organization known as The Society emerges and they have their own plans for the planet - ideas that don't include Batman or Superman.
Injustice 2 will be released for the Xbox One and PS4 on May 16, 2017.
