The First Fan Reactions From The ASSASSIN'S CREED Premiere Are Here - Does It Break The Video Game Film Curse?

There's no denying that video games to movie adaptations, unlike comic books, have never truly received their moment in the spotlight. According to these first fan reactions, a change may be coming...

Lucky fans, who had the opportunity to watch the movie at yesterday's New York screening, have started to share their reactions and there's a chance that Assassin's's Creed could be the first universally acclaimed film based on a video game! Not surprisingly, the show belongs to Michael Fassbender (who's also one of the producers) and his (apparently) amazing performance as Callum Lynch and his ancestor, Aguilar de Nerha. The other great thing fans seemed to appreciate is the director Justin Kurzel's faithfulness to the source material - but for people unfamiliar with the games series, this could be a potential problem.

We still have to wait for the full reviews (rumor says that embargo will be lifted one day before the movie releases)  but it sounds like 20th Century Fox in collaboration with New Regency and Ubisoft have delivered the goods. Check out some more fans reaction below.

Will you take a leap of faith and give the Assassin's Creed a chance? The movie releases on December 21, 2016.

@PantherKing - Don't care what the critics say, except for the fact that others take them too seriously. They don't have the same taste in films that I do, they are paid to criticize, and their opinions are like you-know-what.

I'd say in theory I should be all about it (cast, director, fancy action, sci-fi/history mix), but I'm not feeling this movie at all. Maybe that's something to do with me not being overly familiar with the games. I was really interested in the first AC game based on the setting, but ultimately I never played any of the series.
