UPDATE 2: BATMAN: ARKHAM KNIGHT Trailer, Cover Art & Details Revealed
We're expecting an official announcement later, but if you're feeling impatient you can check out a low quality (ie tiny) look at the cover art for the new Arkham game. Also, Rocksteady will indeed return as developer, and Harley Quinn is available as a playable character too.
Comic Book Therapy have been sent an early glimpse of the cover artwork for the next Batman video game, Arkham Knight.
They've also come across the following bits of info:
- Be a part of the explosive Finale in the Batman: Arkham series in Batman: Arkham Knight.
- Take to the rooftops and now – the roads of Gotham, as for the first time the iconic Batmobile becomes drivable
- Face some of Batman’s most notorious foes as the Scarecrow returns to unite Gotham's most feared villains.
As you can see, the cover's not exactly hi-res, but it does at least confirm that Rocksteady are returning as game developers which should please fans that were a bit disappointed in WB Montreal's handling of the last game, Arkham Origins. You can also see from the sticker on the front that you'll be able to “Pre-Order now to play as Harley Quinn.” There are rumors that Hush will be one of the main villains too, but we can expect confirmation of that along with a better look at all aspects of the new game on DC's All Access show later on today. In the meantime, what do you think?
UPDATE: Game Informer have released some official stills, a synopsis and an announcement video for the game. They haven't made their vid embed available though so you'll have to click HERE to watch that.
Here's the full 4-minute announcement trailer!
In the explosive finale to the Arkham series, Batman faces the ultimate threat against the city he is sworn to protect. The Scarecrow returns to unite an impressive roster of super villains, including Penguin, Two-Face and Harley Quinn, to destroy The Dark Knight forever.
Batman: Arkham Knight introduces Rocksteady’s uniquely designed version of the Batmobile, which is drivable for the first time in the franchise. The addition of this legendary vehicle, combined with the acclaimed gameplay of the Batman Arkham series, offers gamers the ultimate and complete Batman experience as they tear through the streets and soar across the skyline of the entirety of Gotham City.
