Gal Gadot’s WONDER WOMAN Graces The Extra Cover Of Entertainment Weekly's Comic-Con Issue
You might've expected our first look at Justice League to make the cover of EW's Comic-Con issue, but instead we have a previously-seen look at the Amazon Princess from her solo movie!
This year’s San Diego Comic-Con is finally underway with Preview Night kicking things off before they get a little hectic over the next few days. And while we still have to wait for the weekend to get all the major comic book movie announcements, Entertainment Weekly has officially revealed the cover of its free Comic-Con special issue online!
Many of us were hoping to get the first official look at Zack Snyder’s Justice League team assembled on the magazine cover, but what we ended up getting is the next best thing: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice’s Gal Gadot striking a heroic Wonder Woman pose with her powerful bracelets in anticipation of her solo outing as the Amazon Princess... Which makes a lot of sense from a marketing standpoint. Anyhow, this particular image of the superheroine was actually released last week, but see its beauty on the cover below!
Thanks to Joblo, we also have images of the first toys based on Gal Gadot's Princess Diana and Chris Pine's Steve Trevor as they'll appear in the Wonder Woman movie. There are no details on the statues currently displayed at Comic-Con, but you can check them out below.
Wonder Woman hits movie theaters around the world next summer when Gal Gadot returns as the title character in the epic action adventure from director Patty Jenkins. Before she was Wonder Woman, she was Diana, princess of the Amazons, trained to be an unconquerable warrior. Raised on a sheltered island paradise, when an American pilot crashes on their shores and tells of a massive conflict raging in the outside world, Diana leaves her home, convinced she can stop the threat. Fighting alongside man in a war to end all wars, Diana will discover her full powers…and her true destiny.
Joining Gadot in the international cast are Chris Pine, Connie Nielsen, Robin Wright, David Thewlis, Danny Huston, Elena Anaya, Ewen Bremner and Saïd Taghmaoui. Jenkins directs the film from a screenplay by Allan Heinberg and Geoff Johns, story by Zack Snyder & Allan Heinberg, based on characters from DC Entertainment. The film will open on June 2, 2017!
