Geena Davis Wants A Role In WONDER WOMAN 2 And Has Already Spoken To Director Patty Jenkins About It
Coming off an acclaimed turn in the first season of The Exorcist, it looks like Academy Award-winner Geena Davis has her sights set on a role in Warner Bros.' Wonder Woman sequel. More past the jump...
Warner Bros. officially announced that a sequel to the smash-hit Wonder Woman movie was in the works last month at SDCC, and we recently found out that Patty Jenkins was in final talks to return to helm the movie.
It'll probably be some time before Jenkins even thinks about assembling some new cast members, but when the time comes she already has an Oscar-winner waiting in the wings.
While speaking to EW, Geena Davis (A League of Their Own, Thelma and Louise, The Fly) revealed that she loved the first film so much that she approached Jenkins about a role in the sequel:
“I met Patty Jenkins and I told her, ‘I’m sure you’re going to make a sequel and if you need anybody Amazonian, there’s always me. I’m available.’ I loved it, and I want to do more of those films. My dream goal would be to have a streaming show where I could be a badass.”
There's no doubt that the statuesque actress would look the part as an Amazon, and she's already proved she has the badass credentials in 1996's action movie gem, The Long Kiss Goodnight. Of course, more often than not an actor won't win a part by openly campaigning for it - but it has been known to happen!
What do you guys think? Would you like to see Geena Davis kick some ass in Wonder Woman 2?
