Late last year, a rumor did the rounds online that Warner Bros. was in early development on a Wonder Woman spinoff which would focus on Diana's fellow Amazons of Themyscira, and Patty Jenkins has now confirmed the studio's plans.

The Wonder Woman 1984 director says she has a story arc in mind that would encompass the first two movies, followed by Amazons (not the official title) and then a fourth installment, but doesn't intend to step behind the camera for the spinoff.

“I’m not going to nail down a fresh thought about it until this movie comes out, because I kind of want to give myself a palette cleanser, and be fresh of mind,” Jenkins explained to Total Film when asked about the Amazon film. “But yeah, there’s an arc that I have in mind for the first movie, and then the second movie, and then the Amazon movie, and then the third movie.”

“I’m not going to direct it, hopefully,” she added. “I’m going to try really hard not to. It’s not going to be easy. But Geoff Johns and I came up with the story, and we sold the pitch, and we’re going to get it going. I’ll produce it, for sure.”

The first Wonder Woman movie was a huge success so it's hardly surprising the WB is planning spinoffs, but whether the Amazon movie ultimately sees production may well depend on how WW84 performs when it (hopefully) hits theaters on August 14.

@OmegaDaGrodd - Well the krypton tv series was good while it lasted, an amazon movie could work, its a much better idea than The Trench

Every time I think of the DCEU Amazons I think about our introduction to this race of warriors being the scene where they give up the high ground on a beach so they could get shot by some dudes who rolled up by accident

@OmegaDaGrodd - the all powerful Amazons getting shot by normal dudes with early XX century guns. Amazing.

Really hope we get Circe and Giganta. Then if we get a sequel we get Veronica Cale, Dr. Psycho and Silver Swan

@dracula - I'd be down for Dr Psycho as long as we don't get the obligatory Peter Dinklage clamoring.

@inkniron - he is kind of theb obvious choice. Not manny little people actors that come to mind. But if they wanted an unknown or change the character’s height that would be fine

@dracula - Shoot, I think Danny Woodburn fits the bill better. I could see Martin Klebba doing a good job. He just has that evil look. IDK if you ever watched Lost Girl but Rick Howland was great as Trick and has some chops, but he's a little older and I think does mostly theater. Dark Horse that could be great, Tony Cox. They're out there, Dinklage just has the best exposure from GoT.

@inkniron - There is also Warwick Davis, havent seen him in that much though, just Star Wars and Leprechaun

@inkniron - how about Michael J Anderson

@dracula - Warwick would be ok. Had to look up who Anderson was. He freaks me out.

@inkniron - You should check out Twin Peaks, the original seasons, he turned down the revival

@inkniron - Oh so you have watched twin peaks. Seriously he would probably nail Psycho
and find a way to fit in some of that weird backwards talk

@dracula - I guess it could work, but he's way down the list for me. Idk if he's even an active actor tbh.

I wonder if a TV show about a young Wonder Woman would work. They've already done it with Superman and Batman.

@Nightwing1015 - Could work, not sure how long it could go on considering they would confined to an island. Although there was that Amazon show being developed before The Flash that never got made, pretty sure that would have been the same as Arrow, a Wonder Woman show, they just wouldnt call her wonder woman

@Nightwing1015 - Yeah, but Gotham was garbage, do we really want more of that shit?
Nightwing1015
Nightwing1015 - 4/29/2020, 4:20 PM
@tmp3 - Disagree. It was pretty insane but it had it's fans and it's highlights.

Great Alfred, great Catwoman, great Bullock, great Riddler and great Joker.

That alone makes it a worthwhile contribution to the Batman mythos. Some great Bruce/Alfred stuff in the first few seasons too.

@dracula - The confined to an island aspect is what makes me think it would be good for television. Not too expensive. Smallville was basically confined to a rural town for much of the first 2 seasons anyway.
