Earlier today, we learned that Wonder Woman 1984 will now be released in August instead of June, and that news has now been followed by a cool new motion poster featuring Gal Gadot's Diana Prince. The movie's marketing campaign was only just starting to heat up, of course, so Warner Bros. has plenty of time to put out fresh content like this over the coming months.
Had things played out as planned, we likely would have seen a new trailer for the Wonder Woman sequel in time for Black Widow, but the wait for that is probably going to be a little longer now.
With this poster comes some comments from director Patty Jenkins about the movie's new release date. "We made Wonder Woman 1984 for the big screen and I believe in the power of cinema. In these terrible times, when theater owners are struggling as so many are, we are excited to re-date our film to August 14th 2020 in a theater near you, and pray for better times for all by then."
As of right now, both Warner Bros. and Jenkins are clearly committed to Wonder Woman 1984 first playing on the big screen rather than the small one, and things will hopefully have returned to normal by then.
