WONDER WOMAN 1984: Patty Jenkins And Gal Gadot Want To Make The Sequel Like JAMES BOND And INDIANA JONES

It sounds like Wonder Woman 1984 will borrow elements from a number of franchises as director Patty Jenkins and star Gal Gadot aim to make Diana Prince a worldwide hero rather than just an American one...

Some new Wonder Woman 1984 details have found their way online, and these will definitely give fans something to talk about! Film industry analyst Luiz Fernando has revealed that director Patty Jenkins and star Gal Gadot pushed to make the sequel's version of Diana Prince a "worldwide heroine," and used a number of big franchises as inspiration.

Among them were Indiana Jones and James Bond, hence why the Wonder Woman follow-up utilises a number of "international locations."

In another Tweet, Fernando added: "One example was going back to [Themyscira] in [Wonder Woman 1984], which wasn't the original plan, but [Jenkins] realized she needed to show a contrast between the world [Diana] left behind and her current lonely existence in the greedy world of men."

It's noted that Wonder Woman 1984's Themyscria scenes were filmed on the Canary Islands.

There are certainly a lot of hints that the DC Comics adaptation is inspired by the famous franchises mentioned above, especially as Maxwell Lord has all the makings of a Bond baddie!

Nice. Hope 3rd film takes more from greek mythology. With Circe as the villain, also Giganta. Put Diana against minators, cyclops, harpies, medusa and stuff like that

Why am I not excited for this? Maybe its because the trailer was very meh to me. The trailers for the first one was epic asf.

@Highflyer - Your not alone. WW84's marketing has failed to give any hint that we're supposed to get something interesting or a great character driven film. WB's marketing has been terrible lately, this and BOP hasn't made me miss the theaters at all. All their films look average AF like Sony's.

Hopefully they're good. I wonder if having a terrible DCEU or lack of is also a contributing factor to not really giving AF.

@mastakilla39 - considering the current situation of the world to say the marketing for this one is bad is reaching a lot. Considering even Disney isn't doing marketing for their upcoming movies also (or any studio for that fact)

@LameLuka - This was before covid-19. 1st teaser or full trailer of WW84 & BOP, has been unimpressive. it feels like its in the same boat as JL (2017) when the trailer showed nothing but gags and action scenes because WB knew the movie was terrible and going to tank.

@mastakilla39 - Hard to judge a movie off a trailer. One of Thor 3s trailers got me extremely excited and I hate that movie with a passion. Winter Soldiers trailers did very little for me and I love that move.

@dracula - i would laugh so hard if that happens and she pulls out a gun just for the reference.

@Origame - or they could do it in reverse, Diana with a sword, guy comes at her with a gun, she drops her sword, puts her hands up and just does a quick tap of a bracelets, knocking the guy out

The greedy world of men.......also inhabited by women.

@soberchimera - Hopefully they don't play that up too much, first film did well without throwing men as a sex under the bus, when they said man, it always seemed like they were talking about humanity as a whole. Wonder if they considered Veronica Cale instead of Maxwell Lord
