WONDER WOMAN 1984: Robin Wright Confirmed To Return As Antiope In The DC Comics Sequel

Robin Wright had a memorable role in Wonder Woman and made a blink and you'd miss it appearance in Justice League but it's now confirmed that the House of Cards star will be back for Wonder Woman 1984!

If you enjoyed spending time with Robin Wright's General Antiope in Wonder Woman, you'll no doubt be very excited to learn that she will return for the sequel, Wonder Woman 1984. Now, you'll no doubt remember that she was gunned down in the movie so rather than her resurrection being a mystery on the same level as Steve Trevor's, it's been confirmed that the character will appear in flashbacks.

That revelation came during a profile on the House of Cards star in Porter and it's said that she's heading to Spain for a sequence which will also involve Connie Nielsen's Hippolyta. Further details obviously aren't revealed but common sense says that this could be to set up the sequel's villain as we learn more about how they tie into the history of the Amazonians. That's just speculation for now.

Are you excited to see Antiope return in Wonder Woman 1984? Let us know your thoughts below.

@BlindWedjat - was about to continue the chain and say you said "misspelt" instead of "misspelled", but Google says it's a regional thing. Misspelt is commonly used in the UK while misspelled is used in the US.

So... I quietly fade back into the shadows.

Probably the only DC movie other than Aquaman I'm looking forward to. Hope it's good!🙂

@RageDriver2401 - The batman and green lantern have peaked my interest.

@TheInsaneCipher - they seem to be stuck in development limbo with the script re-write and Affleck's situation. I'm waiting till there's some solid development on those movies to set my expectations.

@RageDriver2401 - for me it's WW and Shazam just because how bizarre the movie looks.

@RageDriver2401 - I think with the hal and john team up green lantern sounds good, (the remagining comments scare me though) and i'm a big fan of matt reeves.

@TheInsaneCipher - yea Half and John together do sound interesting. About the Batman, true, Reeves is the only reason I have some faith in that project. How he's decided to start from scratch and his emphasis on making a detective movie. My favourite Batman stories are his detective stories like Long Halloween, Dark Victory and Hush.

@MrCamw1 - Shazam looks alright to me, just not a big fan of Levi's look. And the movie is giving off very generic Superhero movie vibes to me. But maybe that's all DC needs at the moment, some decent movies.

@MrCamw1 - tbh i feel like Shazam is gonna be he gets powers does some superhero stuff gets his ass kicked by sivana loses faith in himself and then realizes the power was in himself all along so Idk how interested I am in that same storyline we keep seeing

@ShimmyShimmyYA - cabt argue with that. My big draw is that this is not taking itself seriously. Now this could either help or hurt the movie but time will tell.

@ShimmyShimmyYA - When has that ever been a storyline in a DC Film?

In "Man of Steel", Superman was rewarded for his persistence in using his abilities to help others, in "Batman v Superman" and "Wonder Woman" Superman and Wonder Woman found their strength and their faith in themselves (and humanity in Wonder Woman's case) through those close to them (Lois Lane in "Batman v Superman" and Steve Trevor in "Wonder Woman") and Batman found his faith in humanity from Superman. In Trailer Park's "Suicide Squad" found allies and a friend in former enemies. I have no clue what happened in Frankenstein's monster "Justice League" I guess it was about the Trinity teaching the other heroes, and the world, what they learned in the previous films? Unfortunately, that film was hacked to pieces and whatever lessons we or the characters learned from it was left on the cutting room floor. Anyone who tells you that what it would have been worse than what we got in the theatres needs to work on their rage problems, but I'm going off on a tangent.

If "Shazam!" does employ that storyline, it will be the first DC Film to do so.

One of the best actresses in the business, who sadly isn't having the career she deserves. She deserved an Emmy for House of Cards, she was incredible in it. And her physical commitment to the role of Antiope (as with Connie Nielsen and everyone else in the supporting cast) should inspire Gadot to do more than the bare minimum.

@Asturgis - bare minimum? That’s laughable.
