Warner Bros. has released six hi-res stills from Patty Jenkins' Wonder Woman 1984, spotlighting Diana (Gal Gadot) in action alongside the returning Steve Trevor (Chris Pine). We also get a new look at villains Maxwell Lord (Pedro Pascal) and Barbara Minerva (Kristen Wiig) pre-Cheetah transformation.

Some of these images were featured in a recent issue of EW, but they're presented here in much higher quality.

As it stands, the Wonder Woman sequel is still set to hit theaters on June 5, but many insiders and film journos believe it's only a matter of time until the studio officially announces a delay (this report even suggests that a Digital release is a possibility). Last night, Minions: The Rise of Gru became the first June release to push back due to the ongoing coronavirus situation.

We'll keep you guys updated. In the meantime, you can click through the images by hitting the next button below.

Fast forward to the 1980s as Wonder Woman’s next big screen adventure finds her facing an all-new foe: The Cheetah. Principal photography is underway on Warner Bros. Pictures’ follow up to the Super Hero’s first outing, last summer’s record-breaking “Wonder Woman,” which took in $822 million at the worldwide box office. “Wonder Woman 1984” will also be helmed by acclaimed director Patty Jenkins, and star Gal Gadot in the title role. As previously announced, the film also stars Kristen Wiig in the role of the Super-Villain The Cheetah, as well as Pedro Pascal. And Chris Pine returns as Steve Trevor. Charles Roven, Deborah Snyder, Zack Snyder, Patty Jenkins, Stephen Jones and Gal Gadot are producing the film. Rebecca Roven Oakley, Richard Suckle, Wesley Coller, Geoff Johns and Walter Hamada are the executive producers.

Diana in Action

A previously seen shot of Diana (Gal Gadot) taking out some bad guys with her Lasso of Truth. It's been confirmed that this will be her primary weapon in Wonder Woman 1984, as the sword she wielded in the first film was deemed too violent.

This is a screenshot from the most recent trailer, as Diana and her long-lost love Steve Trevor (Chris Pine) take to the skies.

The Mall

A not terribly exciting glimpse of a shopping mall. We know this will be the location for one of the movie's first set pieces.

Steve Trevor

How Steve Trevor returns has yet to be confirmed, but if a recent plot leak does turn out to be accurate, fans may not be too happy with the explanation.

Wonder Woman #2

Another shot of Wondy handily incapacitating a pair of goons.

Maxwell Lord and Barbara Minerva

The villains of the piece. Pedro Pascal plays Maxwell Lord, who seemingly inherits the power to grant someone's greatest desire. Kristen Wiig portrays Barbara Minerva, who starts out as Diana's friend before transforming into Cheetah.

This movie would have been on Blu-Ray by now if it stuck to the original November date

@tmp3 - why was it delayed anyway

@dracula - Patty Jenkins wanted to move it to June

@tmp3 - Is that seriously the only reason, there was no actual reason why it needed to be moved

@dracula - No other reason. It was ready in time for November 2019. I guess you could put a tin foil hat on and assume that WB said yes to a delay because Flash was delayed from a 2019 shoot to a 2021 shoot, and they needed something to fill that slot, but there's nothing to support that.

@tmp3 - if i remember correctly they finished ahead of schedule even after moving it to 2020 anyway

@dracula - I think Patty just wanted it moved so she had more time to breathe. She basically did both films back to back, which is why she said it would be awhile before she even thinks about Wonder Woman 3.

@tmp3 - neither of these two know what they're talking about. The studio moved the release date to mimic the release of the first film. Patty did not want the delay.
