Alexandra Daddario has been a popular pick to play Wonder Woman for quite some time (even before Gal Gadot was cast in the role), and this new fan-art from @jaxsonderr gives us some idea of how the White Lotus star might look suited-up as the iconic DC Comics superhero.
As you can see, this take on Diana is sporting a costume that seems to be inspired by the outfit she wore in the DC Rebirth era, with a bit of New 52 Wondy thrown in for good measure.
Could we actually see Daddario take over from Gadot in the new DCU? As far as we know, the Baywatch actress has never been in talks for the part (or any other superhero role, for that matter), but it does sound like Gadot's days wielding the Lasso of Truth have come to an. end, so it's not outside the realm of possibility.
Last month, Gadot appeared to confirm that she will return as the Amazonian warrior for a third movie.
"I love portraying Wonder Woman. It's so close to and dear to my heart. From what I heard from James and from Peter is that we're gonna develop a Wonder Woman 3 together."
In a separate interview, she said: "I had a meeting with (DC Studios CEOs) Peter Safran and James Gunn, and they both told me that they're going to develop a third Wonder Woman with me. They said, 'You're in the best hands, you've got nothing to worry about.' Time will tell."
However, the Heart of Stone actress' comments were refuted by a trade report shortly after. Gunn has yet to address Gadot's claims directly, but the only Wonder Woman-based project that's been confirmed to be in development is Paradise Lost, which will focus on Themyscira and the Amazons and is expected to be set before Diana's time.
There are rumors that Gadot will indeed be back as Diana, but the movie she's referring to isn't going to be Wonder Woman 3, and will actually serve as a semi-reboot.
We'll just have to wait and see how things pan out when the DCU officially gets underway with Superman: Legacy.
