WONDER WOMAN Star Gal Gadot Rumored To Return As Gisele For FAST X

A new rumor doing the rounds online is claiming that former(?) Wonder Woman Gal Gadot is set to return as Gisele for the upcoming tenth instalment in the Fast and Furious franchise...

Does anyone stay dead in this damn franchise?

The tenth Fast and Furious movie, Fast X, is shaping up to be a sprawling family affair... and it might just include another (thought-to-be) deceased member of said family!

According to The Direct, Wonder Woman star Gal Gadot is set to reprise the role of Gisele for the upcoming action movie. Yes, the same Gisele who was pretty soundly killed off back in the sixth film.

The site isn't sure exactly how she'll be brought back, but this wouldn't be the first time a Fast and Furious movie "resurrected" a character. Sung Kang's Han - who was Gisele's love interest - showed up in Fast 9 after it was revealed that Kurt Russell's Mr. Nobody helped him to fake his own death.

Gisele's demise seemed a lot more definitive, however, so it'll be interesting to see what they come up with to explain her miraculous survival.

Though we're still waiting on an official announcement, it's looking increasingly likely that Gadot is done as Wonder Woman, which may have opened the door to her Fast and Furious return.

The gang is all set to return alongside new recruits Daniela Melchior, Brie Larson, Alan Ritchson, Rita Moreno and Jason Momoa as the villain of the piece. Original director Justin Lin recently parted ways with the project over creative differences, with The Incredible Hulk's Louis Leterrier stepping in to take over.

Fast X is set to race into theaters next May.

You know your franchise doesn't actually care about its own plot when they just undo major character deaths left and right.

@Origame - Personally, I feel like Han's death should've stuck. Gisele's though, I think there's room and an interest option for a vendetta story for Gisele to seek revenge against Shaw for Han.

@dagenspear - Giselle's death was part of a domino effect. Literally the third movie in the franchise couldn't have happened if she didn't die. And Han wouldn't have been separated from the rest of the crew to "die" to shaw.

@Origame - her being alive doesn’t change that. As long as those involved in 3 didn’t know she was alive.

@philinterrupted - you can literally say that about anything. Technically, this can apply to the alternate ending of the amazing spiderman 2 which revealed Peter's dad was still alive. You can apply it to the mcu by just saying Tony didn't really die. And I can keep going.

All death in storytelling is designed to drive home some point to change what's happening, at least in regards to actual characters in the story.

@Origame - I’m not saying it’s not cheap and dumb. I’m just saying Fast 3 could still happen.

@philinterrupted - obviously, but it's now more dumb in retrospect.

@Origame - But it was only an effect character specifically, for Han. It was a tipping point, but I think it's not realistic to suggest that Shaw wouldn't have still done what he did, in one way or another.

@dagenspear - to the group it effected them about as much as it did when Han died. The only exception being they didn't have anyone to get revenge on when she died.

@Origame - Not really. Her death doesn't drive any of them to do anything, as far as the movie develops.

@dagenspear - again, the only reason it didn't drive them to do anything is because the people who killed her were dead by the time they found out about it.

You don't fall that fast onto an (impossibly) long runway and live. Unless you're in these movies.
