Patty Jenkins' Wonder Woman was released in U.S. theaters on June 2, 2017, and star Gal Gadot took to Twitter yesterday to mark the movie's 4-year anniversary with a heartfelt message for fans of the iconic DC Comics heroine.

The Zack Snyder's Justice League actress said that the role "changed my life," and that she's "forever grateful for this amazing opportunity and I promise we will always do everything to keep and tell Wonder Woman’s story in the best way possible." Gadot finished by teasing Diana's return in the planned Wonder Woman 3.

Details on Warner Bros.' next solo Wonder Woman adventure are few and far between, but the mixed response to WW84 may well have resulted in the project being put on the long finger. As far as we know, Jenkins does intend to return to the director's chair.

Gadot recently came under fire for taking what many deemed to be a controversial stance on the resurgence of violence between Israel and Palestine, with some calling for her to be removed from her role as Wonder Woman in the DCEU. She has yet to issue a response.

I'm kinda hoping we get a more WW mythology based movie again, because WW84 just didn't fit Wonder Woman at all. Rather just see more Themyscira again, like with the opening of the movie (even if it didn't even needed to be in it). Just bring in Artemis, Circe and Giganta, and maybe Donna and Cassie, and I'll watch.

Anyway, I think (even as an animated project) a MK vs DC movie would be great. Seeing Batman and Scorpion team up would be pretty sweet

If Flash reboots the universe (and that's a big if after the script leak), they should absolutely use the opportunity to softboot the franchise. A new lead (sorry, I do love Gal, but... well y'know) and certainly a new director.

Maybe bring back Allan Heinberg and just do a direct sequel to the original.

Call it WWII and set it during the best wartime setting for stories imaginable.

These films need to dig deeper into the Wonder Woman mythology. Tartarus, her Demi god siblings, Hades etc.
