According to THR, former Person of Interest and Angel star Amy Acker has been cast as the female lead in Matt Nix’s X-Men television series. Acker will play Kate Stewart, wife of Stephen Moyer’s character, who is described as "a woman who is struggling with her separation from her husband Reed (Moyer) and her increasingly challenging teenage children. When her family situation takes a dark turn, she finds that she’s stronger than she thinks.”

The show has also added Emma Dumont (Aquarius, Bunheads) as a character that should be familiar to Marvel Comics fans: Lorna Dane/Polaris. This small screen take on the powerful but unstable mutant is said to be a "strong-willed, brave and loyal mutant who has the ability to manipulate magnetism."

Meanwhile, young Night at The Museum actor Percy Hynes White will play Andy, "a sensitive kid and bit of a loner, who keeps to himself to avoid the turmoil he faces at school and at home."

Bryan Singer will direct the pilot episode of the still not officially titled X-Men family drama series, which will also star Sean Teale, Blair Redford and Stephen Moyer.

@JoJo1982 - Holy Crap .... Polaris! I was just thinking the other day, that the Foxmen movies had missed out on using one of my favourite X-men. I doubt we'll see Havok involved as well, but still pleased to see the character finally appear.

more likely a variation on this,

The Fox TV universe is getting way too large for Marvel not to have got something significant in exchange or it.
Shared access to X-Men and FF key characters for crossovers?
Shared access to Doom, Silver Surfer and Galactus?

...mouth watering just thinking about it.

If this can be at the quality level of Legion, we're in for a treat.

@interoBang - I am stunned with Legion as a tv show. I had no intention of watching it, but it has so far become one of my favorite currently running shows and far and above my favorite cb tv show. It is light years better than other cb tv shows.

@TomSolo - Hands down one of the best TV Pilots I've ever seen. In an era of amazing series, Legion raises the bar again!!!

Here's hoping Polaris, the daughter of Magneto, can be an interesting counterpoint to Legion, the son of Xavier.

@interoBang - What are the other amazing series that you speak of? Just curious

@Pathogen - I mean generally speaking genre TV serials seem to be kinda eclipsing popular cinema in terms of quality and storytelling potential.

For me though there are the obvious: THE EXPANSE, GOT, West World, The Netflix Defenders shows.

What are you into?

@interoBang - i have a toddler, so I've had to limit my viewing for nap time. I'm definitely with you on GoT and those Netflix shows. I do enjoy The Expanse, but not to the degree that I watched the BSG reboot. I want to watch West World, I was pumped for it but alas..haven't had the pleasure yet. I have watched a few eps of Legion..good and interesting.
Now that I"m on the spot, I can't think of what I get really excited to see outside of the above. I do watch the CW comic book shows, but they are such garbage that I only put it on as background while working on the laptop or cooking dinner. They aren't worth more than that.

I really feel like this is the show that will turn out shitty. Remember they were originally going to do a Hellfire Club show, then I guess got cold feet or Singer got his hooks into it or something and now it looks like it's going to get turned into "Remember that long dragging sequence of Wolverine in the suburbs with Iceman's cat?" the TV series.

Legion is good because of Noah Hawley. Not because Fox suddenly knows how to do make good X-Men stuff.
