He is just like any other major team leader, his attitude and the way he talks to people.
let me break it down for you and compare to other team leader that also happen to be my favorite characters just like Cyclops is
When I look at all major team leaders in other comics like Leonardo from TMNT and duke from G.I. JOE, I can see the same characteristics and attitude in each of them. To be a real leader you sometimes have to be hated by your team mates, you have to make the choices that they don't have to make and even don't want to make.
They all just happen to be the squeaky clean leaders, not a drunk alcoholic like Tony Stark or a super nerd like Mr. fantastic. and he works with his family, so they kinda have to put up with his shit
A lot of people seem to like the rebels of the group, like Wolverine, Raphael, and Falcon. Its understandable, normally with characters like those its easy to write fun and adventure stories for them. and put them up against the leaders of the group and fight.
So do you really hate Cyclops or do you just love the rebel of the group so much and since 90% of the time they hate on him, so you hate on him. without Cyclops as the leader of the xmen, I don't think we would have had the run we have had with the xmen line, he has been the only solid xmen for the past 50 years, minus the xfactor run.
