Has WWE Superstar Cody Rhodes Joined The Cast Of Marvel Studios' X-Men Reboot?

Street Fighter star Cody Rhodes fuels speculation that he'll join Marvel Studios' X-Men reboot after teasing fans with the iconic X-Men '97 theme. Could the WWE Superstar be playing a mutant?

Marvel Studios' untitled X-Men reboot is quickly taking shape, and cameras should start rolling later this year. That could mean we get a glimpse of what's to come before the Multiverse Saga is even over, an exciting prospect, especially if it means seeing the team's new costumes.

We know the cast is far from complete, especially as the X-Men's roster is currently pretty light. At the very least, we're expecting Beast and perhaps one or two more mutants to join Professor X's team in the 2028 release.

Then, there's Mister Sinister. While the villain, played by Star Wars actor Adam Driver, is clearly the reboot's big bad, if theories about the Hellfire Club are accurate, then we should expect a few more characters to join him and Emma Frost on screen.

While time will tell on that front, could WWE Superstar Cody Rhodes be set to land a starring role in the movie that's set to kick off the MCU's next Saga?

After recently revealing that he'd visited Marvel Studios' Burbank headquarters, the American Nightmare has shared an Instagram Story that, for no discernible reason, is set to the X-Men '97 theme tune. As you might expect, this has led to a fresh wave of speculation among fans.

Rhodes is no stranger to acting, having appeared in The CW's Arrow as Derek Sampson, The Naked Gun, and as Guile in this September's Street Fighter reboot.

It's possible, of course, that Rhodes might have a voiceover role in X-Men '97 Season 3 or Season 4...or that he's just a fan of that iconic theme tune. Whatever the case, he'd make a fine addition to the X-Men reboot, and could play any number of mutants from the comics. The question now is, who? As always, we'll leave it up to you to share your thoughts in the comments section.

Directed by Jake Schreier (Thunderbolts*), the untitled X-Men movie stars Kit Connor (Heartstopper) as Scott Summers, Sadie Sink (Spider-Man: Brand New Day) as Jean Grey, Christopher Abbott (Catch-22) as Professor Charles Xavier, Inde Navarrette (Obsession) as Rogue, and Maya Boyd (& Juliet) as Storm.

Samara Weaving (Ready or Not) also stars as Emma Frost, alongside Adam Driver (Star Wars: The Force Awakens), who plays Nathaniel Milbury, an alias of Mister Sinister in the comics.

X-Men will be released exclusively in theaters May 5, 2028.

@Loverboy83 - initially I was like “Oh, that’s ridiculous”, and then I imagined Rhodes with the metal arm and eye scar and then I was fully onboard with that casting.

If they wanna do a younger Cable, he definitely could go that route, but I'd rather see him as a member of the Hellfire Club.

I’d be down with him playing Cable…

I really hope they use Sinister appropriately and include his obsession with the Scott. I’m really hoping we get an old school MCU post credit scene that teases Apocalypse and Cable.

If he's in the movie, it will be a bit part. Great wrestler, but a one dimensional actor.

Cody could have just used the theme since he’s a genuinely big X-Men fan and has even worn ring gear inspired by Mister Sinister & Archangel (he’s also stated in the past that Cyclops is his favorite hero and Omega Red is his favorite villain)…

Personally i think its more likely he has a voiceover role in X-Men 97 S3 or 4 then being in the live action reboot but we’ll see…

If so then given the limited film/tv acting he’s done , he’s fine but not the strongest actor thus I wouldn’t mind him in a secondary or minor antagonist role like Avalanche etc!!.

@TheVisionary25 - If he can pull off the accent I can get behind Omega Red. But my guesses are Sabertooth or the MCU Cable. If it's for the movie. Or Juggernaut.

@Ganso - yeah , wouldn’t mind him as Omega Red if he can do the accent.

I don’t see him as Sabretooth though personally…

My pick would be Jai Courtney with Jack O Connell’s Wolverine

RE : "Rhodes is no stranger to acting, having appeared in The CW's Arrow as Derek Sampson, The Naked Gun, and as Guile in this September's Street Fighter reboot."

"acting" is doing a lot of work and heavy lifting in this description.

You could have just said he's a WWE wrestler and we would have known what we're dealing with here.

If it's X-men related and he's not just trolling fans or playing it cause he's a fan. Then he's either playing 1. Sabretooth, 2. Sebastian Shaw 3. Juggernaut, or 4. Cable. Personally, nid go cable. There is a very outside chance that he may be Magneto.

Commando or Angel.
It's too early for Cable or William Stryker and he is not good enough an actor to play Magneto.

If we take into account that Mr. Sinister is the villain, he could be one of the Marauders. Maybe Riptide or Sabretooth.

Only as Slab or Blockbuster.
Depends we will see Nasty Boys or Marauders first working for Sinister.
This guy isn't actor to play A or even B-list character.
