jackman's portrayal of wolverine is good but somewhat overrated by the fans...
Fogs - 11/23/2012, 10:12 AM
He's good, to me the problems with the wolverine movie renditions aren't his fault. If Synger knew better he'd use some lotr-like effects to make him smaller and wider.

Jackman is a good actor to me. I remember when I saw the cage fight the first time. As a longtime X-Men fan I can tell it was magical.
DaCottDamnBatman - 11/23/2012, 10:13 AM
I WAS A BIG WOLVERINE FAN UNTIL THE X-MEN MOVIES STARTED TO COME OUT...
Reasonnnn - 11/23/2012, 10:22 AM
My name is Maximus Decimus Meridius, Commander of the Armies of the North, General of the Felix Legions, loyal servant to the true emperor, Marcus Aurelius. Father to a murdered son, husband to a murdered wife. And I will have my vengeance, in this life or the next.
TheDudeRises - 11/23/2012, 10:32 AM
Maximus would've killed that sh!t!!!! I don't how tall he is in real life but he looks more like wolverine physically. Plus he s got the whole rugby player thing and he can fight. Hackman (haha autocorrect) is overrated and played out. We need new blood. I'm kinda pissed they're pulling the old Singer homo-X-men out of the closet. They had their moment, this is a new universe that's much better than the old. Singer did his gay parable interpretation of the Xmen just like he did with Superman. It is what it is, but don't mix it in with the Vaughn-verse. Singer made poor casting and costume decisions the first time around and what's to prevent him from screwing us again. Regardless of what he says.
JDUKE25 - 11/23/2012, 10:32 AM
Crowe would have been good. Jackman has been fine. But it's time for a new actor and new interpretation of Wolverine.
imnotwearinghockeypants - 11/23/2012, 10:35 AM
Jackman has been fine, it's the writing that has killed most of the movies.
Gulon180 - 11/23/2012, 10:37 AM
Mickey Rourke.....nuff said.
AC1 - 11/23/2012, 10:49 AM
Yeah, a lot of you guys are pretty harsh about Jackman's portrayal. While he might not look exactly like the comic version, he's close enough, and like Fogs said, they could've easily made him appear even slightly smaller via special effects, but they decided not to.
And in terms of characterisation, again he's pretty close, but you need to consider that he's not the one writing the scripts, plus he has to tone it down a bit because they always push for that PG-13 rating. If they aimed to make an R-Rated Wolverine, he could definitely step up his game. He's a very good actor, even if has been in a few questionable films.
CaptainAmerica31 - 11/23/2012, 10:51 AM
@fogs as a long time virgin I can tell you my first time was magical as well
AC1 - 11/23/2012, 10:52 AM
The two depictions where I could see a similarity in the comic character to Jackman would be Civil War (only a small part to be fair) and Origins (admittedly Origins presents a deeper depiction, but it is considerably darker and more psychological than any of the X-Men movies. Again, a problem with the writers and directors, not Jackman)
Kakarot - 11/23/2012, 11:01 AM
Crowe would've been good for sure, I love Jackman in the role though.
Keldor - 11/23/2012, 11:08 AM
ACirca. No one is blaming Hugh Jackman for not being a better Wolverine. We are blaming the filmmakers, producers, directors and studios. That said, High Jackman isnt a terrible Wolverine. but its almost terrible.
Whoelsebutkevin - 11/23/2012, 11:09 AM
Its bothering me....Its Russell Crowe. Two L's Sorry he's my favorite actor and his name must be right.
gambgel - 11/23/2012, 11:26 AM
wait.... Russell as Wolverine?

that could have been badass!
Whoelsebutkevin - 11/23/2012, 11:41 AM
Thanks! :)
Grievo - 11/23/2012, 11:43 AM
adding Crowe to the kill list. Crowe would've been a great Wolvie, its a shame they cast such a fancy lad in the part.
AC1 - 11/23/2012, 11:53 AM
@pointman five movies with poor scripts and direction. He's an actor, he doesn't get to call the shots, he does what he's told and makes the best of it.
Bobbywoodhogan - 11/23/2012, 12:03 PM
I can't believe some people are having a go at Hugh Jackman, Wolverines popularity has sky rocketed since his portrayal. He's as good as Downey Jr is Tony Stark in my opinion. Definitely in the top 5 CBM castings of all-time.
DTor91 - 11/23/2012, 12:05 PM
So X-Men 1 and 2 didn't have a solid portrayal of Wolverine? The best part of both X3 and Wolverine was Hugh Jackman, and even his cameo in First Class was exactly the Wolverine from the comics. I swear, people on this site are never happy with anything. Why even bother watching any comic movie when there will always be something to complain about no matter how minor it is?
SamWinchester - 11/23/2012, 12:10 PM
Jackaman is a fantastic Wolverine. The snobs need to grow up.
SamWinchester - 11/23/2012, 12:11 PM
*Jackman
GUNSMITH - 11/23/2012, 12:30 PM
THE GUY PUSHES TO PLEASE FANS..

I WISH I SAW THE COSTUME THOUGH. NOT YELLOW SPANDEX, BUT JUST LIKE EVERY OTHER COMIC BOOK FILM THAT TRANSLATES A COSTUME FROM COMIC TO LIVE ACTION, THERES WAYS TO DO IT WITHOUT LOOKING CHEESY...

jondoe297 - 11/23/2012, 12:39 PM
Omg this is like the first time everyone sticking up for Hugh Jackman and not saying they want Christian Kane has hell frozen over
GUNSMITH - 11/23/2012, 12:45 PM
XMEN BELONGS IN MARVEL STUDIOS, THE ONLY GUYS THAT CAN DO IT TRUE JUSTICE.
FirstAvenger - 11/23/2012, 1:18 PM
That is an awesome pic ELgUaSoN!
Bark4Soul - 11/23/2012, 1:20 PM
Jackman is awesome, found his perfect role, yes he's a little tall but that's not a huge gripe. He has had shitty direction for most of his last few roles as Logan, that is not his fault. This movie and Days of Future past will be the test to see if he is redeemable before he is technically too old.
