James Marsden Weighs In On Tye Sheridan Playing 'Cyclops' In X-MEN: APOCALYPSE
The original Scott Summers/Cyclops actor James Marsden briefly shares thoughts on and praise for Tye Sheridan, who will play the younger verion of the mutant in X-Men: Apocalypse. Check it out!
It was announced just a couple days ago that Tye Sheridan will tackle the role of Scott Summers aka Cyclops in X-Men: Apocalypse which will be the 1980s iteration of the mutant that was originally portrayed by actor James Marsden in the present-day X-Men trilogy as well as a cameo appearance in last year's X-Men: Days of Future Past. Well, Marsden was attending the Sundance Film Festival today in Utah where HitFix had pressed him for thoughts on his Cyclops successor. "I think he's a wonderfully talented actor who blew me away in Mud," said Marsden of Tye Sheridan and his 2012 breakout role. "I've never seen a kid that young be that present and that powerful. So, I think he's a perfect fit and I congratulate him." Video of the 30-second interview can be found below in addition to some pretty cool fan art (by BossLogic) featuring Tye Sheridan as Cyclops.
Directed by Bryan Singer, X-Men: Apocalypse stars Jennifer Lawrence (Mystique), James McAvoy (Professor X), Michael Fassbender (Magneto), Nicholas Hoult (Beast), Alexandra Shipp (Storm), Sophie Turner (Jean Grey), with Tye Sheridan (Cyclops), and Oscar Isaac (Apocalypse). The movie reportedly starts shooting this summer and will hit theaters on May 27, 2016. What do you think?
