James McAvoy Describes A Ridiculous-Sounding Deleted Scene From X-MEN: FIRST CLASS

While promoting Victor Frankenstein along with Daniel Radcliffe, James McAvoy gets on to a story about a scene from Matthew Vaughn's X-Men: First Class that never made the final cut involving Xavier, Michael Fassbender's Magneto, and a very large, very dumb opponent...

X-Men: First Class didn't really take itself too seriously on the whole, and contained a few intentionally silly moments anyway - but the scene described by James McAvoy in the following video interview might have taken things to a new level of corniness altogether!

It saw McAvoy's Charles Xavier and Michael Fassbender's Erik Lehnsherr take on an unnamed brute that was apparently too stupid for the Professor's mind-control powers to work on. So, with Magneto also at a disadvantage with no metal in the room, the duo decide to take him on hand-to-hand. Have a watch for yourselves to find out what happens next.

This scene has to exist somewhere, and I for one hope we get to see it one day. Both McAvoy and Fassbender will return for X-Men: Apocalypse next May.

Singer wrote this? If the brute was that stupid it would be only easier for Xavier to control him.

Damn, why I'm seriously talking about this?

@VictorMancha - I don't know, man. You just said frick 2 times. [frick], sometimes people are weird here.

First Class:

-Comic-Booky colorful costumes
-Working together as a team
-Perfect tone
-Not directed by Singer

-Havok is now OLDER than Cyclops

-Sebastion Shaw in now a German Nazi

-Moira Mactaggert is in the CIA and NOT Scottish

None of those things represent the quality of the film. If you're that hung up on adherence to the source material, stop watching movies.

I could spend quite a while listing all the flaws I see in First Class, as an X-Men comic adaptation, as a prequel to the other X-movies and as an individual movie, but it's one of those cases where the stuff that works just works so well for me that I can overlook nearly all of those flaws and just enjoy the ride.

Definitely the X-movie with the most rewatchability for me personally! <3

@Nomis

And, they didn't take advantage of Kevin Bacon's dancing talent

I never knew how good of a dancer Justin Hammer was until I saw Iron Man 2

There's mutants in them, they do superhero stuff, they're a team, Wolverine has claws. There you go: X-Men.
