DEADPOOL Director Tim Miller Is Reportedly Developing A KITTY PRYDE Solo Movie For Fox

Despite the Disney deal, it seems to be business as usual at 21st Century Fox until they're told differently. We're hearing that Tim Miller is developing a movie focusing on Kitty Pryde, a.k.a. Shadowcat.

According to Collider's sources, Deadpool director Tim Miller is developing an X-Men spin-off based around the exploits of Kitty Pryde/Shadowcat, who was played by Ellen Page in The Last Stand and Days of Future Past.

Of course, just because a movie is in development, doesn't mean it will actually go into production. Disney's recent acquisition of a good chunk of 21st Century Fox's assets means things are very much up in the air for the studio right now, but it seems they plan on continuing on as normal until they hear otherwise.

It was recently revealed that Fox is still actively developing  several other previously announced spin-offs such as X-Force, Gambit, and a potential sequel to The New Mutants, so they're obviously at least cautiously optimistic about getting these projects up and running.

We'll update as soon as we find out more about this, but in the meantime let us know what you think about the prospect of a solo Shadowcat movie in the comments below.

Why? Honestly this is not needed nor really wanted.

@JoeMomma29 - if hollywood only made movies people wanted there would be a hell of alot less movies being made

@JoeMomma29 - It may not be needed but if you’re a director or screenwriter I think you’d try developing stories you think could work onscreen.

He may not really care whether it gets made by Fox or Marvel Studios so long as it comes to fruition.

@JoeMomma29 - I honestly don't see the issue. While I think it's inevitable that the main xmen will be rebooted into the MCU (I feel New Mutants and Deadpool will be retconned in), why not have a solo kitty pryde film?

It could be a standalone film that is fun. Similar to Logan. Have kitty and Lockheed on an adventure.

It will have no effect on the MCU xmen.

@StormXmen123 - Bob Iger has confirmed deadpool will be retconned in

@JoeMomma29 - Why? I guess they need to make some money off their license of these characters while they can.

@TheCoonII - I think he said they were more of less keeping Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool. Not nesceserally retconning the DP franchise into the MCU.

Which I hope they do. It really has no ties to the main series beside the Black bird and xavier school being the the same building (which the could blow up). It seems like the perfect basis to expand upon with the he xmen in the MCU. Colousus is perfect in appearance and personality.
They could easily plop it in to the MCU continuity post "mutants reveal".

I also hope they do this with New Mutants. Like, Deadpool, it seems to have no direct ties with the main series (as far as we know). And let's be honest, it's unlikely a "rebooted xmen MCU film" would use any of the characters (there are so many core characters to use). The new mutants cast is really good, and it seems they are being highly comic accurate.

Than again if the premise was around Excalibur, I would totally love this idea.

@JoeMomma29 - oh oh, all these Marvel Zombies who were praising Miller when he left Deadpool 2 saying he was the reason why Deadpool was so good must be feeling weird right now.

CaptainAmerica
CaptainAmerica - 1/9/2018, 10:36 AM
@CapnMurphy2021 - Marvel Zombies tend to do that. They’ll praise someone who leaves DC or Fox and they’ll talk shit about directors or actors that leave the MCU. They’ve talked shit about Portman, Weaving, Howard, and Rourke since they left the MCU and shared their bad experiences with Marvel. They also praised Miller saying he was the reason Deadpool was so successful and they wanted him in the MCU directing one of their films. So now I wonder if they’ll keep complimenting him as a director or if they’ll talk shit again since he’s working with Fox.

@CapnMurphy2021 - btw a Marvel Zombie is not the same thing as an MCU fan. MCU fans are cool just like any fan, Zombies however will blindlessly praise everything MCU and shit on everything that isn’t. They’ll also say stupid shit like “Ant Man was better than Logan.”

@Deonox - LOL! I like that one!

Also, like Marvel Studios parents tearing up an agreement with the FOX Foster Care Studios. The Mutants and the FF4 will be with their parents now. Mistakes will be made, not everyone will be pleased, BUT I suspect overall most of us (comic book fans and non-comic book fans) will be happier.
