DEADPOOL Director Tim Miller Will Team With Brian Michael Bendis For Mystery X-MEN Movie 143

21st Century Fox has yet another X-Men spinoff in the works, & although details are pretty much nonexistent right now, we do know there's a pretty damn awesome creative team behind it. More past the jump.

According to Deadline, Fox has hired Brian Michael Bendis to develop a nex X-Men movie script for Deadpool helmer Tim Miller to direct. We don't have any details beyond that, but the project is known as 143.

The report doesn't give us any indication of what this title means, but we're thinking it could be a reference to a comic issue. Over the years there have been several different issue #143s spread out over volumes etc, but a special Christmas edition of Uncanny X-Men from 1963 pops up first with a Google search.

That issue was Shadowcat-centric, so when you also take this film's director into account, there's a good chance that this is actually the Kitty Pryde movie  Collider first mentioned a couple of months back.

That's just speculation for now, so feel free to let us know what you guys think in the comments below.

UPDATE: Looks like we have confirmation that 143 and that Kitty Pryde movie are indeed one in the same!

Shrouded in secrecy makes me think hugh jackman is somehow involved in this. Maybe a crazy Deadpool inspired one off with Wolverine?

Could this be the Kitty Pryde spin-off that was rumored last month?

@ANewPope - Seems very obvious

@ANewPope - The Hollywood Reporter is saying this is true. I thought it might mean X-Men 143 with Kitty Pryde fighting by herself against a Negarli demon but the article came out just as I was posting.

With Tim Miller directing Terminator 6, and the Disney acquisition, how will this possibly be made in time?

@ELAYEM - First we need to make sure this deal doesnt fall apart, because if it does then Fox will have to move foward with the Post-Gambit X films.

@ELAYEM - Fox Studios could continue to operate under Disney. We dont really know the details on how this will go down.

Can't for it to vanish like Cyclops in X-men 3.

How I wonder...

He's directing Terminator 6 and that Disney deal is steadily coming together. Wonder when this thing drops.

@BlackBeltJones - Comcast bid then force a Disney to send in a new bid.

would that prolong the official official deal?

Then the government would probably make things a little sticky and slow for the deal whoever wins it.

I keep changing my predicted year of actual take over.

I’m prepared to make a new prediction.

Fox is officially taken over in 2022.

@IronGenesis - "Comcast bid then force a Disney to send in a new bid."

I would say yea I'm sure that's sort of stalled things a bit. The grinding gears of the corporate jungle.
String

@IronGenesis - Not necessarily. This is the period of time that other companies would be allowed to put in their bids. It's part of the regulatory process.

Comcast's first bid was higher than Disney but Fox nixed that offer. I believe I read Comcast wants to try again because they believe Fox didn't give them any consideration and was unfair to them the first time.

This deal really comes down to what happens with the AT&T/Time Warner deal. Because once that deal settles -this Disney/Fox deal is going to move quickly. If Congress okays the AT&T merger deal. Fox loses the argument that Comcast will cause bigger anti-trust issues. The whole argument for Disney is that is causes less issue because it's just a studio buying assets from another studio -not a conglomerate like Comcast that owns so many diverse assets that can create a monopoly in several markets.

I believe what may happen is Comcast will leave its offer open. Once Fox knows what is happening with AT&T/Time Warner -it'll give the Fox shareholders an option. Go with Disney -or go for the higher paying deal at Comcast.

This is going to be a rollercoaster ride. Because Disney will probably wait until the AT&T/Time Warner deal is settled and Fox is looking at Comcast seriously before offering a counter-deal.

Another factor to why both Disney & Comcast are fighting over Fox assets, both companies are looking at fighting Netflix in the near future for market share. Netflix is a massive monster and years ahead of all its competition.

@BlackBeltJones - Yeah, me too, I thought Terminator 6 was deep into pre production and starts shooting this year for a 2019 release.

This has to be his next project AFTER Terminator 6 (T3 Reboot)

X-Men 143. Was the issue that kitty was left alone and that alien can to
Mansion. I wonder if that's what the plan bring to the screen. I heard they were looking to do a kitty centric film.

143? You mean like Mutant 143 from X2?

"MYSTERY X MEN FILM"

Whatever it is I doubt it will be worth the secrecy.

Only thing it could be that would warrant all the shadowy stuff is something MCU connected...

Or a Jubilee film lol
